Description

The space

You will share the 80m2 2BDR space with me and a curious cat Gisele. This apartment is situated between two beautiful historical parks which is great news for those who like running or just having a picnic outdoors. It has a fully equipped kitchen for those who love to cook.
A spacious bedroom and a living room/kitchen for you to use. The bedroom can be set with a single/double/twin bed. Blankets, sheets, towels etc. will be provided.

Guest access

You are welcome to use the kitchen: stove, oven, fridge, espresso machine, electric water boiling kettle, blender, tea, coffee, milk, spices & oils for cooking, etc.

Interaction with guests

Sometimes our schedules get very busy, so you might end up without seeing any of us for a while, but we will do our best to help plan your stay. Advice on transport/restaurants/bars/locations guaranteed.
We love to cook, so if you are interested in some local food tryouts or jus a nice dinner we can arrange for that to happen.

The neighbourhood

Grīziņkalns is located in Centre District of Riga, about 25min walking distance from old town.
A typical late 19th-century blue-collar neighbourhood under some heavy gentrification these days. Experience the Riga of the 1905 Revolution and of the writer Aleksandrs Čaks amid narrow cobble stone streets and, in some instances, ornately carved wooden houses situated between "Ziedoņdārzs" park and "Grīziņkalns" park this area is perfect for your morning/evening run.
Smaller food stores in few hundred meters, bigger supermarkets in 10min walk. A burger joint in one block.
Multiple public transport options that take you to central train/coach station, old town or the art nouveau district of Riga centre.

Getting around

Old town is about 25min walking distance + multiple public transport options:
Trolly 18 & 23 and buses 5 & 47 will take you to central train/coach station in less than 10min.
Tram 6 to the old town in about 10min.
Trolly 15 to the art nouveau district of Riga centre in about 15min.
Riga is also convenient for getting around on a bike.

Other things to note

THIS SPACE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH PET ALLERGIES!!! (or you have to take whatever medicine you use in these cases)

Everything was fine and it was a pleasure to stay at Liene's place even if it is pretty far away from the city center but the flat is very quiet and comfortable and Liene very reactive.

It was a very nice stay at a stylish apartment nearby the old city. Best detailed description how to approach the apartment ever! :) Liene has helpful tipps where to go and eat. Thanks a lot! Highly recommendable!

I had a short, but great stay here! I just needed a place for one night, and slept great in the doble bed with plenty of pillow :)The communication went smooth, and the place was easy to find. Both Liene and her cat was really nice :)

Liene's apartment is spacious, clean and comfortable. She is really helpful and friendly; her cat is very funny. One thing to keep in mind is that it takes some time to get to the city center. We enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend it!

Liene is a wonderful and friendly host! She was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any questions. Her home is beautiful and bright. The neighborhood is quiet and a bit removed from the hubbub of old town, but of course everything is easily accessible by public transit. I would absolutely recommend staying here!
