Porthcothan Retreats is located on the North Cornwall coastline next to the beautiful sandy beach in Porthcothan and located next to the south west coast path a few miles from Padstow. A small exclusive adults glamping retreat, tucked away in lush surroundings.
We only have 4 unique cabins on site each sleeping 2 with their own private garden & own facilities.
Tides Reach is a boutique contemporary shepherds hut with kitchen & bathroom inside. Available for short stays all year round.

The space
Situated 5 miles from Padstow and 6 miles from Newquay, Porthcothan Retreats is ideally located on the coast with a bus stop next door and Newquay airport 20mins away. With its own private entrance and off road parking you will arrive to a secluded south-facing exclusive glamping spot. Each accommodation has its own garden & outdoor seating area.
Situated 100metres from beautiful Porthcothan beach, this area has everything you need for the perfect stay. The Shepherds hut has a fully fitted kitchen with fridge and freezer section, full oven, hob, grill, even an extractor fan! A smart tv is located on the wall which includes Netflix, iplayer etc. Superfast WiFi is also available both inside and outside the hut. A log burner will be waiting for you ready to light during the colder months which will keep you toastie & warm and with ample outdoor space to enjoy for the summer months it has a chiminea and bbq for al fresco dinners, sunbathing or just sitting quietly listening to the birds, it is the perfect getaway. Porthcothan Retreats is located within the Porthcothan bay itself. A beach, shop/cafe, bar, tea rooms, places to eat and the South West Coast Path are all on the doorstep. The grounds also lead down into Porthcothan valley past our Vines taking you into nature with birds, wildflowers and all types of flora and fauna during spring & summer. A choice awaits left along the footpath into the valley crossing pretty bridges / paddling in the stream (the footpath takes you all the way to Penrose) a truly lovely walk. Or turn right leading you to the beach through the enchanting footpath where you can step onto a beautiful sandy beach, sunbathe, swim & surf. Lifeguards are on duty during the main season, its a perfect beach with 6 others close by.
For foodies there are some excellent restaurants close by from Rick Steins,Paul Ainsworth, Nathan Outlaw to other smaller but equally delicious restaurants, cafes, pubs and personal recommendations (Which are listed in your welcome guide)
Along the cliffs to the left of the beach is one of the famous filming locations of Poldark, Playing Nice and then onto stunning Bedruthan Steps where you must stop at the highly recommended national trust cafe. Along the cliff path to the right leads to Treyarnon beach & youth hostel another spot well worth visiting especially for the view, sunsets & food. Padstow of course is located close by which has many excellent restaurants, boat trips, tours and lovely shops located all around the harbour. Trevose Golf club is also nearby and Newquay airport is only a short distance away.
