Diddlebury is a picturesque village in the quiet and beautiful Corve Valley. Ideal accommodation for wedding guests at nearby Delbury Hall, or as a base for a relaxing holiday in this fascinating and unspoilt rural area.
We invite you to stay in our modern eco house, super-insulated and powered, as far as possible, by solar energy. We are situated on a quiet lane within the Diddlebury Conservation Area and next to the Delbury Hall estate. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which are managed as a wildlife habitat and include a wild wooded area and a natural stream. Our main guest room has a double bed with hypoallergenic mattress, and a wash basin. Tea and coffee making facilities are included in the room. You will also have sole use of the adjoining bathroom (accessed via a private landing area). Families are welcome and a single mattress or cot can be added if needed. A single attic room is available so extra friends or family can be accommodated - please ask for details.
Guests have their own front door key. Come & go as you please!
Interaction with guests
We will always be here to welcome you, and give friendly advice about what to see and do in the area. We both work from home so may not be available at all times. We are musicians and Kitty gives music lessons, so you may hear us playing - see FolkFiddleTeacher for more details.
Other things to note
A simple breakfast (cereals, fresh coffee, home-baked bread & preserves) is provided for all guests. Gluten-free & vegan diets are no problem, but please let us know in advance. We are happy to provide a cooked veggie breakfast with local free-range eggs (£5 per person) or a tasty packed lunch (£8 pp) if pre-booked. Please note that the mobile phone signal may be poor. There is a pay phone in the village and you may use the house phone for essential calls (free to landlines). Our Wi-Fi is fine for e mails & watching i-player, but not super-fast. Occasional restrictions may apply. Please be aware that we do not have a TV licence.
Please bring indoor slippers, as we do not wear shoes inside.
Kitty is a music teacher (piano & folk fiddle). Garry is an early-retired electronics designer, he now works from home. We both perform in HiJinx Ceilidh Band . We love walking, cycling and other pleasures of the countryside.
