Do you want to be close to the city life with all its facilities, and still experience peace and quietness? Then our well-equipped house (built in 1907!) is the place to be!

The space

Two-floor apartment, at 5 min. walking distance from the city centre and central station. Our house was built in 1907 and has characteristic charm. Combined with the vintage-design interior, we are sure that you'll feel at home instantly!

The apartment measures about 100 square meters. Downstairs you'll find the fully-equipped kitchen and the living room. Upstairs the master bedroom has a large double bed (Auping). Two smaller bedrooms can be easily equipped with a single or double mattrass. The bathroom has a big bath that you can happily relax in after shopping in Nijmegen. :-)

In the front of the house, big old stairs are commonly used by all neighbours to sit, chat, and have a drink at. A small park lays two steps from our doorstep.

Parking is no problem and costs about 2,50 a day with our visitor's permit. You can also use two bikes to explore the beautiful nature around Nijmegen.

I visited Nijmegen for a weekend and stayed in Carmen's beautiful flat while I was there. The location is great and the flat is perfect, a wonderful place to spend the weekend. As it was my first Airbnb booking, Carmen was very helpful in explaining the system and how everything works. The only downside was that I didn't get to meet Carmen and thank her in person, though she ensured I arrived safely and knew how to get in :)

Carmen's home was delightfully spacious, bright and comfortable -- great for my two week visit. The bed and shower were great. The place was very clean and as pictured. The kitchen was well equipped. Carmen herself was warm and friendly, and responsive when I had questions. She lent me her bike! I needed ony one bedroom, which was good because another was in the midst of renovation, so not available. The area is a short walk from the Central (train) Station, and also a short walk to downtown (5 minutes), though it is in a quiet residential area. Two things to be aware of: the toilet is one floor down from the bedroom (common in Dutch homes, I think), and the rail line is close by. I could hear the trains, though they weren't loud or disturbing at all, and they didn't seem to run overnight. Overall, I'd highly recommend the place.

Carmen was quicklebendig responding and very helpful in all matters. We felt welcome at all stages, beginning with the bottle of welcome wine. The apartment is quietly but centrally located (5 10 minute walk to the pedestrian shopping area in the centre). Travellers with a handicap should be aware of the typically Dutch steep staircases.

I visited Carmen's place for a weekend trip together with two friends. We planned to go biking in the area, but we were unlucky with the weather. However, because Carmen's house is such a lovely place, we still had a great time! We just chilled out, made use of theire very well equiped kitchen, watched a movie, etc. The place really felt like home those two days :). Carmen was very flexible with our check in and -out time (big plus!), and although she was not there when we arrived, all the practical things were very clear because of the folder that we found on the table with the ("please feel welcome sign":)) . We would highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Nijmegen!!

Carmen and Tim are an amazing couple! The place is adorable and the beds were comfy. They're close to the main city and were quick to pull out a map when we started asking questions. We even had the opportunity to spend a night chatting with them! We want to come back to Nijmegen just to spend more time with them and in their place. Highly recommended!!

Response from Carmen:
Amber! Sorry we didn't meet again at the festival! Hope you had a great time! The weather was at least better than expected, right? ;-) Thanks for staying at our place!! We really enjoyed having you and Mike and Chris over. My last name is Van der Zwaluw. I cannot see your email address or the website you mention, Airbnb blocks it for some reason. Anyways, find me on any social media and keep in touch. :-) Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam and hope to see you again in California! ;-)
