This is an amazing lodge set very near the New Forest in the historic village of Fordingbridge . Built over 300 years ago where it was formerly a saddlery on the upper floor. It was practically derelict and it has taken us years to restore it. Lots of nooks and crannies, and by the way nothing is straight which gives the lodge its amazing character and appeal. Its not the builders having had too much to drink! Some of the old beams are even from King Henry's ship. There are some stairs.

The space
Three bedrooms: one room with 2 single beds, 1 double room and one King Size.
We kindly ask that guests take off their shoes when inside the property.

This is a convenient location set just back from the main road leading from Salisbury (9 miles) or Ringwood (5 miles). Great for walkers and cyclists due to the proximity of the New Forest National Park. Many scenic paths and views and ideal for spotting local wildlife. Lots of country tearooms and pubs. The George just across the road from the Lodge serves good food and a great place to sit outside watching the river cascade from one of the oldest bridges in Britain.

We have a wonderful park for kids, walking distance from the lodge. There are swings and slides, access to the river for a paddle, basketball court, football goals and skate board park. Lots of space for picnics and the kiosk sells cold drinks, coffee and snacks. From May the toddler padding pool is open too. Afterwards stop at The George pub for a drink outside overlooking the river.
