Twin room in our home at the heart of Craighouse on the beautiful Isle of Jura.

The room is available for up to 2 people with shared bathroom plus tea and coffee making facilities.

Maximum stay 3 nights.

The space
Our home is a quite, peaceful retreat in the heart of Jura's main village, close to the distillery, pub, shop, hall and service point.

It's a family home (we're all grown ups) with one twin room currently available to let. The room is a large, bright twin room and includes tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all available at the local cafe and hotel, 7 mins walk away.

Please note we cannot store items for you in the fridge and you are asked not to bring cooked food into the room.

Wifi is available but please note that this is not particularly fast.

We have two friendly dogs on the property.

Check in from 4.15pm - rough time must be confirmed at least 24 hours before arrival or we cannot guarantee we can accommodate your preferred time. Check out 10am.

We cannot offer early check in / late check out but it may be possible to leave luggage in the shed by arrangement for later pick up.

6,000 deer, 240 people, 3 mountains, and 1 pub! Whether it's wildlife, whisky or wonderful walking, Jura is a great place to come for a wee break!

We're situated in Craighouse, which is the island's main village, with the shop, hall, hotel (with pub), distillery, cafe and craft shop in easy walking distance.

The village sits at the south end of Small Isles Bay and is a great base from which to explore - take a gentle stroll along the shore and up to the traditional crofting township of Keils; check out the photographic exhibition of 'Old Jura'; cycle to Corran sands spotting seals along the way; take a hike up the Paps; check out Tea on the Beach; visit the gin distillery; discover the world's 3rd largest whirlpool; see where George Orwell wrote 1984; check out the local crafts; sample the local whisky; take a boat trip; and then have a well earnt drink in the pub the KLF visited just before they burnt a million quid*.

I've travelled from my home in the UK to a few far-flung corners (America, Australia, New Zealand, SEA) and a few places closer to home, but there is still plenty more to see! I've lived in big cities (Sydney and Glasgow) and small islands (think whisky-making) and have just moved back home to the island. I am fairly laid back - i.e. I can socialise with folk but not a party animal - and I like meeting new people and trying new stuff.

We love meeting new people but we're also busy folk so we're happy to greet you and help you out with local knowledge but we're likely to be busy with half a dozen things that should have been done yesterday much of the time, so we'll generally leave you in peace.
