It's our best experience live in airbnb in USA. Lovely is very kind person and try to help, and she also ride us to the bus station in down town in the last day we live. Lovely also prepared the breakfast we expected, muffin, cafe, juices and fruit when we request. We strongly recommend you live in her house

My family had had a problem to find a motel affordable as well as close to DC. "Lovely" was really that one. It was very close to the subway station and it takes about 15 or 20 minutes to the center of DC from the station. The host offered various kinds of compliments such as bagle, drinks, sufficient bottles of water, fruit, and other convenients. Our family made food in the house every night; we could comfortably use the microwaive and other utensils of the house. In addition, the host was so kind to drive us to the station and pick us up by her car everyday. Lovely was the best option for our family. The room was in the basement and it was not completely private room, but those didn't hurt the advantages of the room. We saved a lot of money and enjoyed much convenience.

Very nice place to stay. Clean, comfortable and private. Hosts were friendly and helpful and offered to drive to Metro and pick up. Would stay again.

Staying at Lovely Room was a mixed experience. I'll start with the good side: she was very nice and attentive to our needs. Her family was also nice. They drove us to and from the subway station every time, which was a nice and reassuring gesture. There were drinks and some breakfast food waiting for us in the fridge when we got there and they lasted for about a week. Unfortunately, I feel the responsibility to point out some things that surprised us in a negative way. First of all, this room was not private. The room was in the basement, to the left as you walked into the house from the garage. It had no windows and no door! Which means every time somebody went to the garage(where all the cars were) or to the living room, we would see/hear them. In the basement, there was also the laundry room, the freezer and a storage room. As a consequence, it was being used by other members of the family and guests of the house.(both in our absence and when we were home) Everybody who wanted to use them had to go through our room. Next to the stairs there was a visible fenced-in storage area as well. I do not believe that room was intended to be used as a bedroom. Secondly, the condition of the room was rather dissapointing. When we arrived there(around 4pm), it was pretty clear the host wasn't ready to receive us. At first, because the treadmill was spread out, there was no room in which to put the air mattress on.(which hadn't been inflated yet) The host offered to put two of them, but I can hardly imagine how two of them could had fit in, considering that the one we slept on was lying between the wall and the couch. The couch didn't really unfold, either. Once we managed to fold the threadmill, the host proceeded only then to clean the dust that had gathered around it.(no washing) The floor was rather uninviting to walk on, even moreso to sleep so close to it.(the air mattress was a couple inches away from the floor) The linens were not ready and were not ironed. One blanket even had a large cut in it. All in all, we definitely wouldn't choose to stay there again. We are aware that the other room the host is renting is probably much better. However, if it weren't for the strict cancellation policy, we would have left after the first night. Moreso, 100 dollars a night seems a lot for what we were offered.(the other room is 75 dollars a night and I'm not so sure the differences are worth 25 dollars more) This also considering that for the same price, we staid in a large, very clean apartment in Manhattan, NYC. And this brings me to the choice of neighbourhood. The particular area where we lived was quiet, residential and seemed pretty safe during the daytime. However, several people(including some of them living in the house) gave an undertone of it being unsafe to walk in. The subway stop was indeed pretty close, which makes me think that the host driving us to the subway stop was not just a nice gesture, but also a safety measure. It was however, very much appreciated. The absence of stores around the area was a bit frustrating, but then again, the host gave us a ride whenever we needed. For future reference, I believe that people should be warned about these conditions. I do not believe that this is a private room and it's intended to be a bedroom. (no windows, no door to the room?) The strict cancellation policy should also be reconsidered. While the host was very nice and attentive, the other aspects of our stay, the more important ones, were dissapointing.

Bertina'S House User ProfileBertina'S House is a superhost.

I am an easy going, laid back person who loves to meet new people. My four bedroom, two car garage home is very clean and inviting. I have two family rooms and my guests can feel free to use the internet, watch a movie, or just relax in the massage chair. I am a teacher and I love children. They are always welcome. After a long day of sightseeing, feel free to come back to a quiet, peaceful and residential neighborhood.

For those health nuts, grab a bite to eat before you arrive or come back to my lovely home. Their are only two fast food restaurants in the immediate area. ( McDonalds and Wendy's)
