Relax and unwind in this family retreat. Tucked away in the village of West End, surrounded by Trees and Riding Stables, you'll enjoy a peaceful 'get-away' yet be in easy reach of local amenities and Southamptons stunning rivers and parks.

The Cottage is blissfully quiet, set back from the main house with its own entrance and a large garden.

Your host is happy to interact as much or as little as you like, and will gladly share the best experiences the area has to offer.

The space
Corona Update: We are signed up to the Airbnb Cleaning Protocol for your safety.
Perhaps you are looking at our listing as an option to escape from a flat or apartment? Please do talk to us about options. We can offer you a private garden, we can offer a completely self contained home so you can be assured of total privacy with no need to interact with us other than through the Airbnb system or WhatsApp if you prefer. The Country park is a minute walk away. We'd love to tell you about our amazing city in terms of tourist attractions, bars, restaurants etc - We are lucky with the outstanding natural beauty around us in this part of Southampton, plus the wonderful architecture in the City of Winchester. There are three bedrooms which are set up as twin rooms , we would be grateful if all the furniture was left in place, there is a large living area which has TV, sofa and arm chairs, we have a selection of games, a dining table for 6 people, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a microwave is available on request and there is a coal BBQ for your use in your garden. The Cottage is suitable for a family of 6 and feels very spacious with 2 or 3 people staying. Do let me know if you have any other questions - always happy to help.

We love our gardens and looking after our home, so we dedicate a lot of time to nurturing our space, we love being able to share this with visitors and have created a separate garden just for you. Baking is another one of my passions and there is always a chance a fresh batch of scones of biscuits may have just come out of the oven. Relax and unwind in this rural oasis nestled between Southampton and Winchester. Tucked away in the village of West End, surrounded by Riding Stables, you'll enjoy a peaceful 'get-away' yet be in easy reach of local amenities and Southampton's stunning rivers and country parks. The studio is blissfully quiet, set back from the cottage with its own entrance under a vine-covered pergola, with access to a large garden. Your host is happy to interact as much or as little as you like, and will gladly share the best experiences the area has to offer. Useful hints for our local area: Approaching us from the M27 or Southampton you will pass Itchen Valley Country Park on your left and we are about 10 houses along with a low white wall, a little well in the garden and a large white sign on a tree. If you approaching from the other end of Allington Lane we are located on the right side shortly after Glen Eagles riding stables. Local Buses The local bus stop is 10-15 minutes walk away turning right out of the cottage and straight down the road. There are several buses that go into Southampton from Town Hill Way. Although they are currently not running a normal service because of Covid it remains a good service. Supermarkets and Shops We are fortunate to have a large Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury’s less than a ten minute drive away. M&S have a new market food hall, I have used myself - it’s very good. A new addition to our Sainsbury’s is a sushi bar which is very popular. We also have small supermarkets nearby like Co-op in West End village, Tesco Express and Asda Retail Park There is a Retail Park in Hedge End where we have a selection of fast food options Pizza express, Burger King, Mac Donald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken. Take Aways There are a selection of takeaway menus for you to look at in the cottage. All takeaway establishments are used to delivering to Primrose Cottage. Restaurants and bars. We have three pubs/restaurants within walking distance, all around twenty minutes walk. The White Swan is a carvery. The Master Builder serves good pub food and both places are child friendly. The third on our doorstep is the Two Brothers again serving pub food. We have some nice places to eat only ten minutes by car. The Fishers Pond at Colders Common. A great location on the river. The Brigadier Gerard at Horton Heath is also a nice pub, because of Covid only eating outside! Local villages We are surrounded by many beautiful villages with pleasant coffee shops and Delis. Bishop’s Waltham is a 20min drive away. The Natural Deli and Josie’s are good for coffee and wholesome food. Castles and ruins are scattered around this area. Winchester historic market town has lots of wonderful attractions, architecture and culture to explore (Website hidden by Airbnb) Other villages you may like to explore include; Wickham, Botley, Warsash & Hamble are some of our favourites Things to do Woodmill activity centre is only 2 miles away and has SUP and Kayaking available (Website hidden by Airbnb) Fairthorne Manor is only 5 miles and has a host of activities and water sports for the whole family (Website hidden by Airbnb) Hamble also has a wonderful river which offers hire and lessons (Website hidden by Airbnb) For little ones there is a Peppa Pig (Website hidden by Airbnb) and (Website hidden by Airbnb)
