Finished (but basic) basement is newly carpeted, includes bed, couch, mini-fridge, desk, dresser, private bathroom/shower, private entry, & private outdoor covered porch/deck. Only minutes from Biltmore Estate & downtown Asheville. 3 mi. from Blue Ridge Parkway.
Our finished basement is very basic but just what a traveler needs seeking a shower and soft and clean place to sleep. Basement isn't in the ground, but rather it is the 1st story of our home. It has two windows and a covered deck/porch. Door to the basement/room is your own private access--no need to go through the main part of the house. This listing isn't anything fancy, but we make it available as a low-priced AirBnB option to travelers who aren't seeking any bells and whistles. And we recently upgraded from an air mattress to a real bed (mattress & box springs) and added a desk & dresser, coffee maker, and MINI-FRIDGE! We now have keypad-operated deadbolt locks on our entry door and window coverings for added security! Our home is in an awesome, scenic, and convenient location: we are a short 15-minute drive from downtown Asheville, 10 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the Biltmore House, 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 5 minutes from Interstate 26. You can't beat this deal!
Basement only; Includes private bathroom with shower, bed, couch, desk, dresser, and covered private porch/deck. Private access from ground level--no access to upstairs/kitchen/garage. Come and go as you please. No curfew--don't be afraid to come in late.
Interaction with guests
Very limited to none; You are unlikely to see us--we're always on the go! We give our guests the utmost privacy. As we stay very busy and travel frequently, we may not have the opportunity to meet you—however, we are still glad you are here! We offer a space comparable to the privacy of a hotel--you might see us, but we realize that you are unlikely visiting because of us, but rather because you are seeking an alternative and more affordable option to a hotel. Therefore, we keep to ourselves and give our guests the privacy and space that they prefer.
Other things to note
We only have parking for ONE VEHICLE. Guests may park a 2nd vehicle overnight nearby at a well-lit shopping center, or 350 yards down the road along the side of the street.
We cannot provide a refund for inclement weather or adverse travel conditions affecting driving access in our neighborhood or the region. Our refund policy is set by AirBnB.
Absolutely no pets and no smoking anywhere on the property. No access to second/main story of house, including kitchen.
Hello! My husband and I are looking forward to hosting guests in our home as well as being a guest of others during our travels. We became AirBnB hosts in 2014 and have since hosted nearly 900 bookings/guests.
We live in Asheville in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.
Allison works as a fourth grade teacher at Mills River Elementary School. Peter works as the Trails & Outreach Coordinator at a regional land trust, Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy. Both of us work to keep this region we love as wonderful as it is today, and make it even better for future generations.
We love to take road trips throughout the year. We have appreciated the kindness of many over the years who have let us stay in their home or camp in their yard, or have rented a room to us for a reasonable rate. We are guests who are focused on our travels and we most often are seeking simply a room to hang our hat for the night before our travels resume the following morning. For that reason, most hosts barely know that we are there. In appreciation for the kindness shown to us over the years, we pay it forward by being clean and courteous when we are guests in the homes of others, and we are seeking to host guests who are similarly self-sufficient and simply seeking a basic place for the night.
We look forward to you staying in our home!
