Han River Guesthouse has a very relaxing environment - feels like home away from home. Paul and his wife Julianne was very flexible and helpful in accomodating me and my family during our week in Seoul. Payl was very kind to pick us up at te his station on our first day. There was no language barrier as Paul was able to communicate in English sufficiently. They also had great coffee! The walk up the hill to their place is a stretch but it is very close to Mapo station and the view of the river is great! We are also just minutes away from blocks of delicious Korean food without the tourists. I definity will stay here again during my next visit to Korea.

This was the BEST guesthouse experience I had in Seoul! All of the amenities/accommodations were brand new and everything was clean and cozy. WIFI was excellent. BIKE RENTALS were so fun to bike along the Han river. The complimentary breakfast was the best I had, and all the kitchen appliances are new and easy to use! I Recommend it for anyone who is staying for a long time OR just a night, it is a great place at a GREAT PRICE, with everything you could need. There was always someone friendly to share a meal with, or a FIFA match or tv show on the big screen in the common area. and Juliana's cooking was heavenly ^.^ and i felt like i got a better perspective on Korean culture through her tasty recipes. I was a bit tired from extensive travels so I spent most of time time enjoying the space itself: lovely rooms and common room, the roof and terrace! It was better than any coffee shop (though many were in walking distance) for working on my laptop and planning my next trips . . . the atmosphere was perfect! When I did go out, the subway was close by and in the middle of everything, from Namdaemun market (must see!) to Seoul NAtional Museum. Paul and Juliana are AMAZING people, so kind and happy to help with anything. COOKIE is the sweetest dog, and they all made me feel so welcome. I was able to wash my clothes and even my smelly sneakers, and Juliana helped me learn some Korean words and even wrote down some of her tasty recipes for me. I cannot say enough of this place, I will be BACK as soon as I can. (^^) Also-- I am finicky about bathrooms, and these passed my test! bathroom and shower was so nice and clean, good water pressure and heat, AND stocked with toothpaste and body wash and other necessities that I hadn't had space in my suitcase for. Dragon hill spa was a quick 5$ taxi away, and that jimjilbang is AMAZING to experience, even if you are familiar with Korean spa culture... It is special!
