Description

The space

The room is restful with all the accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has a 42" flat screen cable TV, a Queen size bed, table, desk, comfortable seating.

Guest access

Entrance to your own sanctuary is to the right of the driveway under the main stairs. On street parking is always close by. As I'm often out hiking and biking, it's best to text or email arrival times. No access to host area.

Interaction with guests

We try to provide everything you might need already in your room. If something is missing, please use Airbnb app to communicate with us. Guest rooms are in our house/home but are completely separate with separate entrances.

The neighbourhood

Boise-Eliot is full of popular dining establishments, as well as multiple coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need.
Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.

My husband, two sons and I got this big house in 2009 so when I retired, we could rent rooms to travelers. I retired in 2013 from teaching middle school science and spent the summer traveling.
In July I went on the Trans Siberian and Trans Mongolian Railways from St Petersburg by way of Lake Baikal and Ulaanbaatar to Beijing with fellow geography teachers. In September my sister and I walked the Coast to Coast in the Lake District and Yorkshire National Parks in northern England, which I'm doing again this summer. Also, I'll visit Thailand and India later this fall.
I'd love to share travel stories with you.
Now I love to walk, hike and bike around Portland most days. Ask me about where to go when you visit. I have many maps and books about getting around Portland and the Northwest.
