Myself and roommates who are PhD candidates at MIT will be your hosts. We are friendly and helpful. You will have access to the kitchen, a washer/dryer and your own bedroom with a Queen bed.
You will be living with other PhD students from MIT. My room is upstairs, away from any common areas, so whatever your schedule is you will not have to worry about noise from others. The bedroom has a queen bed (less than 1 year old) as well as a dresser, bookcase and desk. If you have a laptop the TV can be used as a second monitor.
The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans and utensils (everything can go in the diswasher, not need to wash anything by hand) The TV has cable and an apple TV with netflix for use by anyone. There is also wifi, the ssid/password will be written on the blackboard. Laundry available in the bathroom, and a roommate can set you up with iron/ironing board if you need.
Interaction with guests
I may not be present, but some of my roommates will be from time to time. They are all friendly and will offer up advice on local recommendations if asked.
Other things to note
If the room is available on my schedule calendar, it is available for you to book! So if you want the room and the dates are open on the calendar, send me an official request if you want to stay.
