Come and unwind in our charming Hobbit home—completely private and nestled in its own secluded spot within the stunning Cheshire countryside. It’s the ideal romantic hideaway.
Located where Cheshire, Shropshire, and Staffordshire meet, the area is rich with attractions, local walking routes, and nearby welcoming country pubs serving top-quality food and ales.
The cosy Hobbit home offers peaceful, exclusive use of our tranquil top paddock situated on our property, 100 yards from our house.

The space
✨ Welcome to the Hobbitesque Home✨

A unique, off-grid escape into nature’s magic

📌 Please note: We are only available to book through the Airbnb platform.

If you’re seeking a little magic, a touch of whimsy, and a chance to truly step away from the modern world, then welcome to the Hobbitesque home – your perfect getaway. Nestled in its own private paddock, this cosy retreat offers an enchanting experience that’s romantic, peaceful, and just a little bit different.

With its rounded Hobbit-style doors and windows, the snug is a charming wooden structure with the scent of pine, offering a warm and cosy escape. The snug sits completely on its own, about 100 yards from our home, giving you exclusive use of the entire top paddock – a rare find and a true retreat into solitude and nature.

As dusk falls, you may hear owls hooting, foxes calling, and bats darting through the sky. Whether you’re visiting during a crisp frosty winter, golden autumn, or a sun-soaked summer, the snug is a beautiful place to reconnect with the outdoors.

🛏 Accommodation Details
• The snug features two rooms:
• A lounge with a small but extremely comfortable recliner sofa
• A bedroom with a small double bed, accessed through a round doorway and separated by curtains for privacy (see photos for reference)
• A separate converted rustic hut just outside the snug contains your private toilet, shower, and sink

Please note: due to the quirky nature of the snug (including steps and round entrances), it is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.

🌿 Off-Grid Simplicity

We believe in the magic of switching off. As such, there is no Wi-Fi, but guests with EE mobile service generally receive signal. A TV and DVD player is provided with the complete Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit box sets — perfect for a cosy night in by the fire.

🔥 Outdoor Living & Dining

The snug includes:
• Fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster
• Summer setup (April–September):
• Covered gazebo with a premium Ninja Woodfire Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker
• 2-ring hotplate and an electric teppanyaki grill
• Traditional charcoal BBQ (please bring your own coals)

For the full countryside experience, you can pick up organic meats and deli items at the nearby Bridgemere Garden Centre (a scenic 1-mile walk along country lanes).

Fancy dining out? We’re surrounded by lovely country pubs and have local Indian and Chinese takeaways that deliver directly to us.

🎁 Extras & Treats
• An outdoor fire pit is available for your use -please bring your own firelighters/kindling & wood if you would like to use it
• Complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, and semi-skimmed milk (alternative milks available on request)

🚗 Important Notes
• You will need a car to explore the area, access attractions, and pick up groceries. We are in a rural location.
• The nearest village is a 5-minute drive, and the closest pub is 2 miles away.
• Parking is available on our private yard. If the ground is too wet to drive to the snug, you may need to walk (100 yards) — bring wellies and a waterproof jacket just in case!

🐾 Please note:

No dogs allowed – we have 5 friendly dogs living on our property.

🚶‍♀️ Local Adventures Await

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and scenic walks, including access to the famous Sandstone Trail for longer hikes. A welcome folder in the snug is filled with recommendations and information to help you make the most of your stay.

A Touch of Tolkien Magic

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.
Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell,
nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat:
it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”
~ J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit

We look forward to welcoming you to this truly special and whimsical escape. 🌿

Guest access
The whole paddock is exclusively yours for your stay

Other things to note
Please only book if you have a car as our location is quite rural. While there are pubs nearby, the road leading to them is busy and not safe for walking.

Bedding and towels are provided, along with organic, chemical-free shampoo and conditioner.

As you’re glamping in the heart of the countryside, you may meet some of the local wildlife or insects- should they trouble you, a handy little vacuum is at your disposal.

The Hobbit home is equipped with glasses, plates, dishes, cutlery, and BBQ utensils. You’ll also find a cafetière for those who enjoy fresh filter coffee in the morning.

Please bring your own wood / fire starter kit if you anticipate having a log fire as we can no longer supply logs.

Do mind that there are a few four-legged friends about: we have two small, cheerful dogs, and our neighbours have three larger, friendly ones. Because of this merry menagerie, we kindly ask that guests do not bring their own dogs. Please take care and drive slowly around the property.

For safety reasons, no candles are to be burned inside the Hobbit home.

We also ask that the peace of the Shire be respected—keep music at a gentle volume.

Checkout time is strictly 11:00am.

Thank you for helping keep our little slice of countryside magical!
