Ready to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas? Want to experience authentic, little changed Lombok? The lesser known south west region has all this to offer. Enjoy your stay within the comforts of our splendid villa. Take time to slow down and reflect, savour stunning bay views, island trips, diving, snorkelling, surfing and gaze upon local life. We have comfortable rooms, AC, hot showers, a cafe and wifi. Stay and experience Desert Point, Mekaki Beach and the secret Gilis.

The space
Situated in its own private garden, just metres from the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, Villa PaoPao has been built in a tropical style with the convenience of modern living. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, hot water showers and the 3 en-suite bedrooms enjoy garden views. The villa has a first floor wooden decking area with doors to the two double bedrooms and the twin bedroom on the ground floor has its own terrace/patio and seating area.
Set back from the sea, across the single track coastal road to PaoPao Beach, the Villa offers a feel of the 'real' Lombok. The deck is the perfect place to relax, take advantage of the magnificent view across the bay to the offshore islands and watch the friendly locals going about their business.
The villa is one of three on our site which share the same staff and management. The other two villas -
called KuraKura and Rembulan - are also available for larger groups.
Villa PaoPao has the basics of fridge and water dispenser. You can ask Bukran, our manager (who lives on site), if you would prefer to eat your breakfast either in the villa or at our Cafe Kupu-Kupu in the grounds.

Where you’ll be

Sekotong Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia

South West Lombok is hard to beat. It can project you back in time and feel as though you are experiencing the original adventure of Bali and Lombok before tourism took hold in the busier resorts. It may be that you just need time to take your holiday down to a slower pace and enjoy your activities in a more tranquil setting and give yourself time to reflect and put life on pause. If you are looking for all-night parties and night life, this is not us. We are situated within the local community but we have access to many amenities for you to enjoy during your stay. You may be a surfer, diver, snorkeller, bird watcher, you may enjoy boat trips to the secret islands, beautiful scenery and sandy beaches. Whichever you are, if you really don't want to quite go ‘native’ but still participate in all of these, then one of our three private rooms at Villa PaoPao is perfect for you. Each room has a super king bed and air conditioning with a good sized en suite shower room. There is a spacious dining and seating area which is enjoyed by all three rooms. From your bedroom, walk through the double glass doors on to the large balcony on the first floor of the villa. Wake up each morning to a stunning sunrise across the bay and nearby islands. See Rinjani volcano peeping through the clouds. Sit at your own table with your morning coffee and watch the local people go about their daily routine.
Villa PaoPao is set within a 2 hectare site. Our entrance is 10 metres or so from PaoPao beach accessed by the local community road. On site there are two other villas and a small cafe where you can enjoy your breakfast and other meals and drinks are available throughout the day. Our cook loves to provide traditional Sasak food to our guests but also has western additions to her menu.

I'm a self employed importer of furniture and handicrafts from Indonesia. My husband and I have been trading for more than 30 years and in 2004 we were lucky enough to buy land in this unspoilt area of south west Lombok. We have spent many happy times with our children at the villas; enjoying the peaceful surroundings and snorkelling and diving the "secret" Gili's.

During your stay

The villas are European owned but managed locally by our in-house couple, Bukran and Soriah who both speak good English and are very happy to help you with all the arrangements for local activities. There are always staff available to help you with everything that you need. I am available by email or phone at any point before or during your stay. My managers will be happy to arrange transfers, boat trips to the 'secret' Gili's, sightseeing trips around Lombok or any other activities you might have in mind. We use local people, ensuring income from tourism goes back into the community.
