Description

Our neighborhood, "Hip" Donelson-home of The Grand Ole Opry-is uniquely Nashville and we love our close-knit community. Come see us! Your private bedroom in our historic home is just minutes from the airport and a short drive to downtown Nashville.

You will have your own private bedroom and bathroom in our historic home. Your room has a comfortable full-sized bed, a desk/vanity and plenty of floor space. You are welcome to use the closet and empty dresser for any of your clothes. Fresh linens and towels will be provided.

The bathroom is attached to a shared hallway (it is not directly connected to the guest room), but you will have exclusive access to the guest bath during your stay. It's all yours, complete with a newly installed curved shower curtain rod for a little extra room!

The full bed will sleep two, but we have a twin bed in an adjacent room if you have an additional guest ($15 per bed per night for each extra bed--please select 3 guests even if you total 2 people, but intend to use separate beds).

Make yourself at home! You are welcome to use our living room sitting area and TV ( Netflix, PS2, and DVD player available), large updated kitchen, and "yoga" studio at any time during your stay. We will have granola bars, fruit, oatmeal, and coffee/tea available for breakfast.

We also love catering to musicians (because we are musicians!), and have a guest-house-turned-studio separate from the main house that is available as a rehearsal space upon request. The studio is equipped with a piano and small sound system for vocals, and there is room for a drum kit.

For our outdoorsy travelers, we welcome you to use our outdoor patio with furniture, large front porch (with swing!) and very (very) large front yard.

We love meeting new people, and are more than happy to be your guides to Music City! However, we do understand that some guests prefer privacy and we will gladly stay out of your way if you would like a quieter stay.

We also both travel for work frequently, so there is a good chance that one of us may not be around during your visit.

We do have three pets: our hound dog Rufus, a small kitten Virginia, and long-hair tortie Kitty. The pets do not have access to the guest room, but you may be around them as you come in and out of the house or spend time in any of our shared spaces (kitchen and living room). Rufus does like to warn us when guests arrive by barking at the door, but he is extremely lovable and friendly and will welcome you with open paws as soon as you come inside. Our tortie (black long-hair) is very friendly and loves attention. Our tabby kitten is not allowed outside.

Our home is located in the Donelson neighborhood, across the Cumberland River, east of downtown Nashville.

While we are in Nashville proper, we are located in more of a suburban area that doesn't cater to pedestrians. There are plenty of sidewalks and it is very safe, but walking is not the most ideal way to get around our area. There are a few incredible eateries (McNamara's Irish Pub, Phat Bites Deli, Homegrown Taproom, Uncle Bud's Catfish Shack) about a mile from our house, but it is about a 20 minute walk to get to them on foot.

We are 5 minutes from The Hermitage (home of President Andrew Jackson), 10 minutes from the Nashville International Airport, 10 minutes from the Grand Ole Opry, 15 minutes from the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 20 minutes from Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities, and 20 minutes from Broadway/downtown Nashville (driving distances).

We are directly across the street from a YMCA. Additionally, we are within walking distance of access to the scenic Stones River Greenway, which connects to Nashville's expansive system of trails and greenways all over town.

We have a large gravel driveway with plenty of space to accommodate nearly any vehicles. Parking is always free!

Be prepared to use ride sharing (Lyft/Uber), cabs, or our very limited public transit if you are not bringing your own vehicle. Our area is very suburban and is not super walkable. Rental cars can be priced as low as $40/day, so do keep that option open if you plan on traveling to and from our house frequently during your stay.

We recommend Lyft for a reasonably-priced ride to downtown Nashville nightlife (one-way is usually around $15-20 total). Be aware that surge pricing occurs, and depending on the time of night it can be cheaper to take a cab.

Public transit is available, but options are very limited. We are on the Nashville MTA Lebanon Pike and Opry Mills bus routes, but the MTA schedules cater more to commuters than to tourists. The Lebanon Pike route runs only on weekdays during business hours. The Opry Mills route does run on weekends, but Donelson Station is the closest stop to us and it is just over a mile from our house (25 minute walk).

Another public transit option is the Music City Star commuter train, which runs 6am to 5pm on weekdays only. Again, Donelson Station is the closest stop to us and it is just over a mile from our house (25 minute walk).

We are located close to Briley Parkway and I-40 for easy driving access to all areas of Nashville. Our area is fairly bike friendly, with access to the Nashville Greenway system right across the street.

Please be aware before you book with us that while we feel as though our home is a very reasonable driving distance to downtown Nashville, it is NOT within walking distance of downtown Nashville, and our listing is priced accordingly.

We think our space is perfect for travelers of all kinds; whether you're a businessperson visiting the conference center, a band on tour, or just a visitor looking for some Music City honky-tonks, we've got the place for you. Come see us!

House Rules
No parties or events
May not be safe or suitable for children (0-12 years)
Check-in time is 4PM - 11PM.

Our check-in time is 4PM and later--no early arrivals, no exceptions. If you have more than two guests and/or are using the additional twin bed, check in is amended to 5PM. Please let us know your ETA as you travel to our home. Keep in mind, Nashville is in the Central Time Zone.

We love cats (and have two of our own), but we DO NOT allow cats to stay with us for the sake of future guests with allergies.

You are welcome to bring your friendly, house-trained dog along during your stay, but we strongly prefer that you do not leave your dog unattended in our home at any time. If your pup can't be with you while you're out of the house, we kindly ask that you make other arrangements. We also respectfully ask that you keep dogs off the bed for the sake of our bed linens.

Please observe "quiteish" hours after 10 pm on weeknights--we have day jobs and get up very early. We don't mind if you come in late or chat at a reasonable volume, but please take any louder conversations or activities outside. We have a lovely front porch, patio, and a great yard!

If you would like to use our extra twin bed, please select 3 guests. We charge $15/night extra for the extra bed--please do not use the bed during your stay if you have not selected 3 guests. We do not allow "groups" of more than 3 people, no exceptions. CHECK IN TIME IS AMENDED TO 5PM IF YOU ARE USING BOTH BEDS!

BEFORE YOU BOOK please note our location. We are in Nashville proper, but we are not located downtown. Our neighborhood is residential with limited access to public transit. We are 15-20 minutes from East Nashville and Broadway, and 20-25 minutes to Midtown/Vanderbilt. The best way to get downtown from our house is to drive--an Uber/Lyft usually runs about $10-15 one way. We have a wonderful neighborhood community with good food and good people, but it is not "quintessentially Nashville". If staying in the heart of the Nashville scene is important to your vacation, please consider booking a space closer to downtown that is priced accordingly.

Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE only. Please pick up your butts and other trash.

We cannot accept cash for additional nights, nor reimburse you in cash should you choose to shorten your stay after arrival.

Cory And Davie User ProfileCory And Davie is a superhost.

My boyfriend, Davie, and I recently moved to Tennessee to pursue our dreams. We come from a very small coal mining town in Southwest Virginia, and love the down-home city setting of Nashville. We both love good old-fashioned rock n roll music, and are so excited to be able to show our guests the "other side" of music in Music City.

We enjoy entertaining, especially from our kitchen. You can frequently find us next to the stove cooking and baking for ourselves and our friends (Davie's family originally comes from The Big Easy, so you can bet on amazing beans and rice!). As food lovers, we also love discovering new local restaurants. We are blown away by the support that Nashville residents give to local restaurants, farmers markets, and businesses and we would love to share our recommendations with you.

We are busy folks; between Davie's music career and my on-the-road engineering job we cherish our time at home together. We spend our free-time hanging out at the house and around town with our hound dog mutt, Rufus and our sassy kitties.

We can't wait to meet you!
