Other attractions include:

- William Ricketts Sanctuary with its incredible wooden carvings
- The multiple beautifully curated gardens around the hills; some have entry fees, others do not.

Getting around

Meersbrook is located within 1km walking distance to the Belgrave train station, which is the end of the line from Melbourne. Otherwise, there are bus stops at the base of our street. Having your own car is recommended.

Other things to note

It must be noted, that the tavern across the creek has live music playing on weekend nights and can sometimes be heard faintly from the home. Whilst this has never bothered us or any of our neighbours, please take this into consideration before booking. The tavern does not run very late, music is generally finished by 11pm. You may hear guests as they depart, but you may also be one of them!

Also, although they are not too close, we have neighbours on both sides of the house. Closing the appropriate blinds at night time gives you your deserved privacy.

Great place central to all that the Dandenongs have to offer. Local supermarket, cafes and Puffing Billy station just down the road. Really relaxing vibe, homely touches everywhere, toy boxes for the kids, tree views from the sitting areas, comfy beds, all you need to relax. Totally recommend it for a break away.

Elizabeth made us feel so welcome. There was a beautiful bottle of wine on the bench and a personal welcome note on the black board in the kitchen. The house was immaculate, exactly as described. The bedrooms were huge and the king size beds were amazingly comfortable. The house was super child friendly, with a large rumpus room full of toys, as well as a swing and trampoline outside which our little one loved. The house is only 1 minute drive to the cute town of Belgrave, which has so many great cafes and restaurants to choose from. And if driving is not your thing, the property backs onto the local Tavern! Great for a quiet drink or a meal. Elizabeth's communication was amazing throughout the whole process, even checking in with us upon arrival to make sure everything was okay. I would highly recommend this property and host for anyone wanting a Dandenong Ranges escape. Thank you Elizabeth

As can be seen from pictures this is a very cozy place situated in a quiet environment, surrounded by trees with a lot of privacy. We visited when the weather was very unpredictable and cold, but that wasn't a problem because the centralized heating system does a very decent job in keeping us all warm. There is a highly ranked restaurant that is just walking distance away, which makes all the difference especially when we were too tired to drive out just for a meal. Elizabeth was also very thoughtful to prepare us a day prior to our arrival, assisted us in all ways she could. We would love to stay longer if we could, definitely exceeded our expectations!

Meersbrook is a great spot for a private getaway. The house itself is cosy, with enough room for 6 people comfortably. Kitchen is spacious and has all utensils/crockery required for a holiday house. FOXTEL and free WiFi is a big plus. I'll definitely be back.

Elizabeth was a great host, very prompt, polite and informative in communications. We planned our weekend around the local tips she gave us! The family friendly home is perfectly located for a puffing billy and tree top adventure weekend away - so many great things walking distance to the house too including a funky pub, organic bakery, gourmet pizza and yummy gelato! The personal touches and added facilities suited our entire family from a bottle of wine, Foxtel and detailed information booklet for the adults to a full toy room, second tv and newly renovated bathroom with a deep bath for the kids. Nothing to improve here perfect as is, thank you and highly recommend Elizabeth and her quant hone to anybody considering coming to the area you won't need to look any further!!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location - walking distance to public transport if you want to get into the city, already in the forest if you are heading the other way. You can walk to two of the best cafes in the hills, or visit the tallest living tree on the Australian mainland... If you can find it!

Elizabeth User ProfileElizabeth is a superhost.

I'm a Designer with two school aged children, married to a Director of Photography. Together we both love our creative pursuits, our forest home, spending time with our (not so) little ones and travelling.

We have been AirBnB guests a number of times in incredible properties around the world. We hope to provide those that book our property with experiences equal to those we've had ourselves.

We're clean and responsible guests, respectful of others property and personal space. We own our own home in the forest an hour from Melbourne and take great pride in it - we treat other people home's as we would like our own to be treated.

Our travel style tends to be a little impromptu and spontaneous, a bit off the beaten track. We work out a skeleton of our trip then generally allow the place itself to guide us.

We look forward to the chance of meeting other AirBnB guests and hosts.
