The space
The original barn was designed and remodeled into a Tiny House by owner. It sits on a stunning rustically manicured property that provides sightings of deer, bunnies, owls, ducks, hawks, eagles, birds, heron, eagles and more. This unique park-like setting is home to the sounds of owls and frogs at night, and morning birdsong. From sunshine to deep shade, every view and garden is calming, welcoming and enchanting. There are multiple places to sit or nap, and for those who want more activity there is badminton, volleyball, pickleball, horseshoes, and basketball, and multiple parks within minutes of the place, including an off-leash dog park. Whatever you are needing, this is the perfect place to reset and find yourself.

Since starting Airbnb in April 2019 guest feedback has been invaluable to improving experiences. Here are just a few:
~ 2019 Replaced metal daybed with solid wood - no squeaks!
~ 2019 Replaced all kitchen items with new.
~ 2019 Added multiple condiment choices.
~ 2020 Upgraded internet connection to a hardwired ethernet/Wi-Fi between both tiny houses. We now have great speeds and connections!
~ 2021 Arriving July 7 for installation - air conditioner!

Where you’ll be

Gig Harbor, Washington, United States

Gig Harbor is a quaint small town with many big city amenities & gateway to Olympic National Forest. We are a block from fabulous Sehmel park with forest trails, tennis courts, playground, etc., hosting activities and events year-round. Off-leash park and Forest park minutes away. Minutes to YMCA & downtown Gig Harbor with community piers, summertime Tuesday music, Art Festivals, restaurants, galleries, shopping and so much more. Fifteen to 20 minutes to downtown Tacoma, and 1 1/2 to 2 hours to Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Squim, the Olympic Rainforest, and the ferry to Victoria, Canada. See The Gig Harbor Guide at City of Gig Harbor and Gig Harbor Living Local for more info on local events and activities. Five minute drive to St. Anthony Hospital, Costco & many other stores. The neighborhood ambient sound is nature, surrounded by farmland & forests. Minutes to Henderson Bay on the Purdy spit. Great place to beachcomb, windsurf, kite sail & relax. The Olympic National Rain Forest is 2 hours northwest of here. Lots of hiking, right next to Port Angeles, which is the place to take the ferry to Victoria, BC. Another beautiful spot, with high tea and rose gardens. Forks is past Port Angeles, where they film the Twilight TV show and has a lot of forestry activities, and rain. Between here and there is Port Townsend, a very artsy place, with a glass beach, and Squim, with lavender farms and lots of sun. Bremerton has the Naval Shipyards and the ferry to Seattle waterfront, which is walking distance to the Pike Place Market where you could easily spend the day. Ferry boats rides are wonderful & inexpensive if you walk on. Fifteen minutes to Olalla Winery with live music & kayaks for rent. Gig Harbor has kayaks & paddle boards for rent as well. So much to do and experience, look at Gig Harbor Events for more. You would be among the many who have extended their stay! There is a house that is being built in the neighborhood near my property. Construction started April 30, 2021. The builder estimates a six month build. With my windows closed I don't notice much noise. They work Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. - till 4 or 4:30 p.m. - except on holidays.

I am blessed to live close to nature in my own park. I go to bed with the sounds of frogs & owls, and wake to birdsong. My property has three ponds and a creek that attract wildlife. I enjoy animals, gardening, swimming, dancing and spending time with family and friends. I cook from scratch, hang my laundry to dry and grow my own vegetables. Every summer I swim in Henderson Bay. Although I still enjoy working in healthcare, I find peace, joy and contentment when I am home. I love sharing this place with others, because of the calmness and happiness it brings to all who enter. I spent the last two years designing and building the perfect tiny house out of the existing barn. Hosting Airbnb guests is like friends and family coming for a visit, sometimes with their adorable dogs and cats! Everyone is so appreciative, respectful, and impacted by the beauty and peace of the property, and how completely awesome the Tiny Barn is; they say the pictures don't do it justice. I'm excited to offer the property to book for weddings, family reunions, work and wellness retreats with a menu of services; and coming soon - spa treatments in the woods - massages and facials. I have two life mottos: "Dance - and live your life - as if no one is watching you," and from Dr. Seuss: “To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.”
