We can not promise that you will see the northern lights, moose, reindeer and catch wild fish; but many of our guests have experienced it.
They love the cottage, it is cozy, located by a lake and has the wilderness outside the door. A boat is included in the rent.
The area is famous for skiing, hiking, cycling, kayaking in lakes and rapids. A perfect starting point for adventure and for those who seek rest in pure nature in all seasons.
And it is only 20 minutes to the tourist metropolis of Åre

The space
The cottage is perfect for a couple who love beautiful, pure nature and adventure. (possibly in the company of smaller children).
The newly built cottage is 36 square meters, on two levels with a spiral staircase.
When you walk in you are met by a hall with space for clothes and equipment. A door leads to a combined kitchen / family room. There is a TV, dishwasher, stove with two plates and micro. Wifi with Chromecast so you can get many channels on the TV via your own computer or mobile. There is a sofa bed with a mattress, (130 cm). The toilet is spacious with shower.
In the loft there are two beds that can be put together to make a double bed. There is also a spare bed. From the window you have a view of beautiful Otffjället.
Bring your own linens and towels. Can also rent for 100 SEK / person.
The house is heated by an air heat pump which can also provide comfortable cooling with AC.
The cottage is on the same plot as our holiday home. Sometimes we are there at the same time as our guests, sometimes they have the farm to themselves. It has always worked well.

Guest access
Our guests have access to the whole cottage itself. There is also a barbecue area in the yard with lovely mountain views towards Ottfjället and the lake.
There is plenty of room to park your car, bikes, kayaks or whatever you have with you.
The footpath over the beautiful marsh leads down to the boat. Pulling a wobbler after the boat is possible that the dinner is fixed. In winter is icefishing for trout and artic char. We can offer adventure with snowmobile and for fishing.

Other things to note
Animal and bird life is exciting in this wild area. Many of our guests have seen moose, reindeer and beaver near the cabin. Bears, wolves and wolverines also roam here, but they are shy and difficult to see.
Sea eagles and golden eagles sometimes also fly over the cabin.
The fishing is very good in both lake and running water. Here you can catch wild trout, char, grayling and rough pike. A rowing boat is included in the rent.
Nearby there is a famous fishing camp that attracts people from all over Europe.
It is close to ski slopes, hiking and biking trails, kayaking and good fishing. Discover goals like Blanktjärn and Pyramiderna.
Ottsjön has fine sandy beaches and wonderful fresh and clean water can be promised. About a kilometer from the cottage there is a beach. There is also Fjällkajakcenter where you can rent kayaks.
Ottsjöbua, a wonderful little country store, is six kilometers away.
Don't be afraid to go out into nature - the animals are not dangerous because humans are not on their menu.

The area is very famous for its beauty and its wildness.
It was over 200 years since the first adventurers and tourists started coming here.
The area is equally exciting all year round. In winter with lots of snow, darkness and sometimes northern lights. In the summer it never gets dark. It can get hot but the mountains are still speckled with snow.
Here are wonderful opportunities for hiking, white water rafting, fisching cycling in the mountains, ski trails, downhill skiing and canoeing.

My work: Retired. Previously, ran the media company Dag&Ace, worked for SVT (Swedish Public Television), including as a reporter for Rapport, and was a film/education producer for the Swedish Tax Agency and the police.

My wife Ann-Christin and retired in 2019. We have a wonderful newly built guest cottage in the middle of the Jämtland mountain world that we rent out. We like nature, are happy to fish with a fly and enjoy sitting and grilling with a view of the mighty Ottfjället. Feel free to hang out with nice company. Our sons with grandchildren and families also like the mountain environment. They love that the bike/ kayak/skiing in the area is amazing. On fun, I will continue to run my media company Dag & Ace Production (do movies among other things) while Ann-Christin helps a little in childcare.
