The Woody Creek Cabin is a backcountry cabin that is a 2.5 mile moderately strenuous hike through the woods from downtown Cooke City. The hike includes 1,000 ft of elevation gain. It is only accessible by foot or horses. The cabin is 20x24 with a sleeping loft and was built in 2012 from the standing dead trees on the property. There is a full kitchen but no running water at the cabin, however, a spring is 100 yards away for drinking and cooking. There is also an outhouse.
Guests are expected to leave the Cabin clean and with firewood stacked inside for the next guests.( there is a firewood pile outside the cabin) Food must be stored indoors, as there is abundant wildlife in the area. Guests must provide their own sleeping bags.
