Location

Glasgow City, Scotland, United Kingdom

With an ideal location for all Glasgow concert venues, the flat is less than one mile from Hampden Park and is close to both the O2 Academy and SECC the flat also benefits from excellent transport links to Glasgow city centre, with Queens Park Rail Station being a couple of minutes walk from the flat. Also literally round the corner from the flat you will find a bus stop where a short bus ride will have you in the city centre in no time!. Shawlands is a short walk away boasting of many pubs, clubs, shops and various eateries. The park was acquired in 1857 and was laid out by the world renowned Sir Joseph Paxton. The park was dedicated to the memory of Mary, Queen of Scots and not Queen Victoria, a common misconception given the proximity to Victoria Road and that the park was created during her reign . The park has a good range of sport and recreational facilities and there is a boating pond as well as a smaller nature pond which attracts mute swans, mallards and tufted ducks. As well as the park;s manicured lawns, there are great views across Glasgow from the top of the hill. On a clear day, the Campsie Fells and Ben Lomond are clearly visible. The Nursery and Display House feature a fine collection of sub-tropical plants and many types of flowering and foliage plants. The nursery also houses a Zen garden, ponds, tropical fish, exotic birds and a reptile house.Late Rooms TipIf you are travelling to the Edinburgh Festival but are struggling to find accommodation, then why not stay in Glasgow? Being only 50 minutes from Edinburgh via the Express shuttle, it may prove more cost effective.
