Let us share with you a little bit about Sisoq; your beach home in Gili Asahan.
Sisoq means shell in Sasak, the language spoken locally in Lombok, and just like a shell brought in by the high tide we are located right on the shores of this beautiful island we call home. This accommodation is not just your average holiday rental, it is your home in paradise, fully furnished and equipped with all the necessities and more, making it the perfect place to stay for families or a group of friends travelling together.
The space was created mostly using repurposed boat wood from a boat that was beached on our shores, and other locally sourced natural materials, in combination with light touches of modern yet rustic design elements inspired by the beauty of our surroundings. On the ground floor you will find your fully equipped and spacious kitchen, a library area with books and toys all at your disposal during your stay, a convertible couch, a bedroom with double bed and the main bathroom. A spacious outside verandah equipped with dining table, chill-out sofas, coffee table and hammock boats a spectacular view of the bays white sand beaches, turquoise waters and emerald hills. On the second floor, accessible by the stair case on the rear of the house, you will find the spacious and airy main bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a cozy extra bed corner. With raised ceilings and a wall made entirely of windows sleeping in this room will make you feel as though you are sleeping under the stars amongst nature. From the comfort of your queen size bed you can admire views of the breathtaking bay tinted with the pastel hues of a tropical sunset and even catch a shooting star in the night skies. The space can accommodate 1 to 7 guests between the 2 bedrooms, convertible couch and extra bed. All beds are equipped with mosquito nets. There is only limited wi-fi available at Sisoq and we kindly request you to not stream, download, upload or game on it. Should you absolutely need to have a personal internet connection we can assist you with getting a local sim card and internet bundle.
Even if breakfast is not included but we provide fruits and milk as well as tea and coffee that you can prepare yourself in the morning if you like to and could also help to arrange some bread with early notice. Otherwise it's possible to have breakfast at the Nautilus restaurant less then a minute away from the house or you can try the local specialities in the village.
Sisoq is neighboring the local village of Gili Asahan, offering you an authentic insight to life on the island and its friendly community, don’t be shy to take a walk to explore and learn more about it. On the island there are countless opportunities for snorkeling some of the world’s most diverse reef habitats and trips to neighboring islands can also be arranged with village boat guides. There is a stand-up paddle, which can comfortably fit two, available for you to explore the glassy waters of the bay. Trips to the nearest market in Pelangan are available upon request and are a unique opportunity to indulge yourself in the local culture and daily rituals and stock up the fridge with tropical fruit delights.

PLEASE NOTE:
Please be aware that Sisoq is right next to the village which is not only home to friendly locals but also a lively community of chickens and roosters. During the day and the early morning hours, you may hear the delightful sounds of these feathered residents as they go about their daily routines.
As Lombok is of Muslim faith, you will hear the ritual daily prayers (Adzan) from Sisoq.
During the day, these calls create a beautiful and unique atmosphere. The early morning call around 5 AM, however, might wake you up. To ensure a restful sleep, we provide earplugs for your comfort.
Other things to note
The entire population of Gili Asahan is of Islam faith and actively practices ritual daily prayers as well as seasonal festivities at the local mosque in the village. The call to prayer can be heard from the house and for those with sensitive hearing we suggest avoiding festive periods on the island.
Furthermore, although we do our best to cooperate with our neighbors to preserve the serene silence we all cherish, we do not have authority over their managerial decisions and guest activities and although we will always openly discuss any issues we cannot take responsibility for their actions.
