Great check-in experience

Recent guests loved the smooth start to this stay.
A romantic setting for the perfect getaway. Our hut is situated in a traditional Cornish Apple orchard. Guests will have private access to the wood fired hot tub. Guests will be able to explore the surrounding countryside, beaches and restaurants before coming back to enjoy the beauty of the hut. We have a host of wildlife in the orchard including pheasants, woodpeckers, barn owls and honey bees. However you choose to relax our luxurious shepherd's hut is the perfect space to unwind.

The space
The shepherds hut is a small, perfectly formed home from home. It is an opportunity to unwind away from WiFi, and external pressures. We have a wood fired hot tub which allows guests to relax under the stars. Inside, guests can enjoy comfort with our raised double bed, cotton bedding, small TV and wood-burning stove. Guests can relax outside with a bottle of apple juice from the surrounding orchard and watch the local wildlife. The hut has modern amenities of a hot shower, inbuilt toilet and gas hob, whilst a microwave and fridge are located in a wooden shed alongside the hut. Barn owls, pheasants, squirrels and woodpeckers can be seen and heard.

Guest access
We provide a designated parking space alongside our barn for guests during their stay. There is a short walk
from this parking space to the shepherd's hut. Guests have access to their own garden, where you can sit and watch the birds, light the fire pit and enjoy a glass of local Apple juice made from last year’s apples. Relax under the stars in the wood fired hot tub or light the fire pit and enjoy a bbq on the grill.

Other things to note
The shepherds hut has all the amenities required, including kitchen with gas hob, bathroom and electric hot shower, with a cold water feed for the sinks. Tea, coffee and milk are complimentary as are cookies on arrival.
The wood burning stove provides a cosy atmosphere for the colder nights and a fire pit provides external heat and a place to gather and enjoy. There is also a small electric radiator should you need it.
A shed is available next to the hut, where guests can use a fridge and microwave as well as store their bikes if required.

Hot Tub

The hot tub takes around 3 hours to reach temperature - this is shorter in the warmer months. Please factor this into your stay.
If we are able to and have advance notification of your arrival time, we can light the hot tub prior to your arrival but it may also need additional logs to be put onto the fire every 20 minutes. There is a lid to place over the tub to keep the water clean and maintain the temperature of the water.

Gowns are provided but it may also be a good idea to bring either slippers or some flip flops with you to use whilst getting in and out of the tub.

We include 1 load of wood per night of your stay for the wood burning hot tub. If you require extra wood while you are here please note there is an additional charge of £5 per load.

There is a firepit/bbq for guests to use. Charcoal can be purchased here or you can bring your own . All bbq utensils are also provided. We do not provide wood for the firepit but again this can be purchased from us or you can bring your own.

Eating Out

If you are looking to eat out whilst you are here we have listed pubs and restaurants in our guidebook. It is essential that you pre-book your table.

Pets

We do not accept pets I am afraid.

Special Occasions

If you are celebrating a special occasion whilst staying with us we can decorate the hut to include flowers, fizz, balloons , banners and chocolates. This will be at an additional cost, prices start at £10. Please message me for more details.

Check Out

This is at 1000. Due to our tight turnaround we ask that guests please check out on time.

Guests can explore the beauty of South East Cornwall including visitor attractions such as the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan , national Marine Aquarium and all historic Plymouth attractions. They can also walk to the local villages where the pubs serve food and beverage.
We are situated 20 mins from the coast and 30 mins from Dartmoor National Park and Plymouth. There are cycle routes locally as well as local pubs to explore.

We hope guests appreciate the beauty and peace of the countryside and enjoy an experience away from the pressures of the modern world. The hut has a radio and small terrestrial tv so you may want to download any programmes on devices before you arrive.

We look forward to sharing our orchard and am sure you will have an enjoyable stay.
