Description

The space

My home is not sparkly and new (historic) but it is comfortable, clean and friendly. The home is quite large with many rooms. When traveling with a group, it is always possible to find a little spot for privacy and alone time.

Guest access

Guests have access to all areas of the home with exception to the owners quarters marked "Private"

Interaction with guests

I do live in the home in a separate, private, insulated quarters. I do pass through the home for access. My interaction with you is based on your preference. I will give you all the privacy you wish, but if you see me around, I am always open for a chat.

The neighbourhood

A well established neighborhood with a mixed style of historic and newer homes on one of America's designated "Scenic Byways." Directly on the Indian River. It is the preferred location for bikers, runners and strollers.

Getting around

Taxi, Uber, bus service a short walk. A car is highly suggested. Cocoa Beach Shuttle for Airport to door transportation.

Other things to note

On occassion, families guest counts exceed 8 guests. There is a possible 5 bedroom. A convertible TV room that has a queen sized pull out sofa dressed with high end linens. But let's be honest, it is a sofa bed best fit for limber children's bodies. The room does offer complete privacy, TV and can be joined to the downstairs bedroom through an adjoining bath to create a private family suite.

We enjoyed sitting in the sun room and watching dolphins in the river. The beach towels, chairs & umbrellas provided for our use were appreciated. The location was great in that it was close to state highway 528 for beach access, also an easy drive to the Orlando Airport and proximity to I-95. We needed a large home as we gathered for our daughter's wedding in Palm Bay. This home was great as it had enough bedroom and public space for children and grandchildren. At no point did we feel over-crowded. An unexpected bonus was that the rod in one of the closets was high enough that it accommodated our formal gowns.

My family of 14 was going on a cruise so 10 of us stayed at Katherine's. I had previously stayed there prior to a cruise. It was perfect for our family. We were able to eat together and everybody enjoyed being on the river, either with runs, walks or bike rides. I highly recommend. I'm sure I will be back...again. Thanks Katherine!

We loved celebrating Christmas with our families at Kathy's home! The kitchen was magnificent. The house was a short drive to Cocoa Village, as well as the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach.

This is the second year we've stayed with Katherine and if travel bring us back to Cocoa we would 100% stay again! The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. It's an easy trip into Cocoa Village where there are some cute shops and very good restaurants and of course the Space Center is an easy day trip. We loved our time there!

Katherine was a great host, and the communication was easy, fast and if she was not available, a friend turned up to help out during our stay! Very warm and friendly neighbor hood. My hole family of 11 people stayed 2 nights before leaving for a cruise from Port Canaveral, and the location was perfect: Close to supermarket, a nice little drive over to Cocoa beach for the day, easy and short drive access from Orlando, very easy to go to the cruice terminal from here! A nice, historic house on the riverside, big bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge and well equipped kitchen, and comfy living rooms - we stayed in for family dinners both nights! The parking outside had space for all of our 3 big cars. Katherine´s friend was always near by as Katherine was out traveling herself, got us keys and was available on her cell all our stay. I recommend this place if you need a big family house near Cocoa beach.

This was a very nice location. Kathy was a great host and very accommodating. It is 20 minutes from Kennedy space Center and about 20 minutes from the beach. It also had a great dock on Indian River. The kids had fun fishing there. I would recommend this place

Aside from taking a day or two to connect and finalize the original booking the experience was smooth and and easy. Even though Katherine was out of town at the time of our arrival she arranged for a friend to meet us and show us around the house and remained available via text for the questions we did have. She allowed us to take a little extra time to do laundry and get packed up on our last day which was also much appreciated.

Hello, I'm Katherine a well travelled Chef that has been trying to retire for years, but can't seem to get the kitchen out of my blood. In my travels I have had the good fortune of meeting great people that hosted me and remain my friends many years later. Perhaps as a host I can pay the experience forward. I love people, food, fun, a good cocktail and mostly laughing; any kind will do.

I live a simple, uncluttered life, as you can probably see in the pictures of my home. At this stage of my life the only things I collect are friends, love and memories.

My home is not stuffy, please put your feet up, stretch out for a snooze on the couch, my house is designed for COMFORT!

Mutual respect and clear understanding are key.
