About this listing

This 5 star standard two bedroom apartment is in the heart of the cultural and bohemian west end. The apartment is within walking distance of many of the city's attractions and a plethora of cafes, bars, delis and restaurants.

The space

The apartment spans the garden level of an end of terrace Victorian stone built villa, which is typical of the architecture in this part of the city. The apartment has been luxuriously designed and furnished to the highest standard and is truly a home from home.

There is a private parking space and a small private garden. The apartment has two double sized bedrooms - one has a double bed and the other can be made up as either a king bed or two singles. The apartment is great for one to four people, but if you want to accommodate more, I can provide an air bed for the living room. Bed linen, towels and toiletries are included.

Both the bedrooms and the living room have flat screen TVs and there is a blu-ray player in the living room. The kitchen is fully integrated and has everything you need for a whole range of cooking options.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the whole apartment, private garden with bistro table & chairs and one private parking space adjacent to the apartment. The garden which borders the other side of the apartment is for use by the residents of the house above only.

Interaction with guests

As I now live in London, I will not be available to meet and greet you personally, but I will communicate with you via email or telephone prior to your arrival. I also have a lovely housekeeper, Margaret, who lives locally and can take care of your needs and questions that you may have during your stay. As I have lived in the area, I can give you good advice on where to go and what to do. There is an amazing array of restaurants locally, and in the city centre, so I can help recommend places to eat for casual or special occasions or even make reservations on your behalf. If you need anything special arranged prior to your arrival, just ask and Margaret or I will be delighted to wave our wand and it will be done.

I do hate rules and want you to enjoy your stay, but there are a couple of no nos. For smokers, please use the garden outside for smoking and dispose of any cigarette ends carefully. There is a young family living in the house above, so please be considerate when coming home late at night and keep noise to a minimum. The apartment is not to be used as a party flat - absolutely no stag or hen parties. Please ensure all windows are closed and locked before going out. If you are using the parking space, please park in the left hand space of the car park (facing the apartment) as my neighbour tends to use the space on the right hand side.

This is a really great apartment in a fantastic location in the heart of the West End with its bars and very nice restaurants but on a quiet residential street, with great access to the subway (very cheap and easy to use). The apartment was clean, well equipped and like a home-from home. Well positioned for the university and the city alike. I will definitely be back to stay again.

Staying at this flat made my first experience in Glasgow an amazing one. The neighborhood is a quiet residence and nestled near an array of restaurants, cafes, bars, etc. The city center is about 10-15 minutes away. So, you're not too far from all the nightlife. The flat itself was nicely decorated, and had all the modern conveniences. I highly recommend staying at this place if you find yourself visiting Glasgow.

Vanessa's home is lovely! The space is small but cozy and just as pictured. Very clean and modern, and the shower is fantastic - lots of hot water and nice water pressure! Check-in was a breeze as Vanessa's housekeeper Margaret met us at the house and even had the kettle on for a welcoming cup of tea. The location is very nice on a quiet residential street but only about a block to shops, pubs, etc. Very near the Botanical Gardens and Kelvingrove Park. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (Necropolis, St Mungo's, breweries, Kelvingrove Art Museum, the university) though busses and subway are near if you prefer. Overall it was a great home in a great location. Highly recommended!

It was an enjoyable stay at Vanessa's. The apartment is in a great location, with easy access to Byers Road and the West End attractions and a short walk to the Subway to get into the city centre. The flat is comfortable and well furnished. I was a bit frustrated with the check in process. I had to wait half an hour after the agreed time to get into the apartment, which was a real inconvenience.

Dear Callum, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry to hear about the problems you encountered. I am looking into what happened with your arrival as this is most unusual and not the normal standard. I have not had one complaint in over 3 years of operation about the key holder being late, so I am very embarrassed that this has happened to you. Regarding the door lock, again I have not received any notification from other guests that this was a problem, so thank- you for bringing this to my attention. There may be a rogue key, so we will ensure that each one is checked. The iron will be replaced and I am so sorry that this wasn't picked up earlier. It must have been damaged by a previous guest and they failed to let us know, but I will ask my housekeeper to check items like this on a regular basis to prevent a re-occurance. I do hope this didn't detract too much from your overall stay and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Best wishes Vanessa

High quality apartment in quiet residential location. We really enjoyed the peace but only 10 mins from city centre by subway or 20 by bus. good choice of restaurants, bars, delis and bakeries for morning croissant run

Hello, welcome to my airbnb post. I moved from Glasgow to London a few years ago and re-trained as an Interior Designer at KLC School of Design in Chelsea Harbour. I love taking run down properties and turning them into something special. These apartments are my latest creations - Glasgow 2014 and Lancaster and London launched in 2016.
