The space

A truly spacious private bedroom in a large 2BR apt. w/ living room, kitchen, hallway, & full bath. Bedroom is fully furnished with a queen size bed, desk, & AC. Only 10 mins away from the Charles River and Red or Green T stops! Near BU/Harvard/MIT

The apartment, and the room in particular, is unusually large. The house is filled with large bay windows, allowing plenty of light to pour through. The bedroom can comfortably accommodate two people, and the rest of the house will give you plenty of room to stretch out and feel at home.

Guests will be provided with a Cambridge visitors parking permit allowing street parking (w/ limitations) in the neighborhood. Yered, my roommate, has a bedroom and bathroom in the back of the house which are for his use only.

The kitchen, living room (w/ TV & Chromecast), and hallway (a great place to store bicycles) is shared space that you are welcome to use. The large bathroom between the kitchen and hallway will be yours to use during your stay. WiFi is of course complementary.

I will be here to greet and welcome you to the place, then will be leaving for the entirety of your stay. My roommate, Yered, will be staying in the house as well. He is fairly quiet and keeps to himself, but would be happy to answer any questions or perhaps hang out depending on your willingness.

The apartment is on the first floor of a 3 story building (there are two other similar aptartments above, one on each floor). It is located in Cambridge, but the neighborhood, Cambridgeport, is beautiful with tree lined streets and a relaxed European feel, completely distinct from downtown Boston or even other parts of Cambridge.

It lies at a rare centerpoint between Boston and Cambridge. Central Square, the cultural hub of Cambridge, a short walk away to the north and the BU Bridge overlooking the Charles River and Boston less than 10 minutes to the south.

Cambridgeport is in the heart of the intellectual capital of the US, surrounded by Harvard, MIT, and Boston University. Harvard Square is always lively with fantastic comedy at the Hong Kong, brunch at the Beat Hotel, or a drink with the locals at Grendel's Den.

The public transit system is the MBTA, providing primarily bus and train service (above and below ground throughout Boston & Cambridge). The Green line is about a 15 minute walk away across the BU Bridge and will quickly take you to downtown Boston, or out into greater Boston the opposite direction. The Red line serves Cambridge and nearest stop is in Central Square, a scenic 15 minute walk through Cambridgeport.

The bus system is reliable (and air conditioned) and is a swift way to get around. The 47 stop is a few minutes walk and will take you across the BU Bridge into Boston, enabling quick access to the Longwood medical area, Harvard Medical School and Northeastern University.

Thank you both, Aleks and Yered! Huge place, nice room, neighborhood very quiet. Approx. 10 min to subway station (etc.), everything is exactly as described. Aleks was not there, Yered is really a nice guy and an uncomplicated roommate.

Cambridge is a great place to start your visit to Boston from! A bit away from downtown, you'll get the chance to see student life, enjoyable bars and restaurants, maybe even take a look at the campus of Harvard and MIT - things we wouldn't probably have done living right in Boston. Also, we found the museums in and around Harvard a lot more interesting than the main-stream attractions. Aleks' place is great, a nice quiet room, a helpful roommate who gives you a good start into the place if she's not there, a supermarket just few steps away - wonderful! One might be a bit sad about the "long" walk to the metro (it took us about 10 minutes without luggage), but that's the only negative really, and one could take an extra bus to compensate for that. All in all - thumbs up! Would definitely recommend this!

Just PERFECT! it was the best place we stayed in our 4 cities USA trip. Beautiful house, room and neighborhood, excellent communication Aleks was always attentive about how we were and if everything was OK. Unfurtunately we couldn't meet Aleks in person but her roommate Jered was a really nice person, very respectful and helpful. We loved Cambridge and Boston!!! Thank youuu Aleksss!

Aleks' place really does fit the description. It's really spacious, a beautiful house and her bed is one of the most comfortable i've ever slept in. We didn't meet her in Person, but we talked quite a bit via Text and she made sure to check up on us and ask how we were doing. Her housemate is also nice although we only met him once in the beginning. I would definitely recommend staying in this neighbourhood and with Aleks :)
