Spacious room with private bath in the heart of picturesque Highland Park, NJ in an ideal location, convenient to all stores & restaurants. Within walking distance to Rutgers, NJ Transit train & buses- 1 hour ride to NYC, 40 min to Princeton.

The space

It is an unusually large and spacious room with a lovely bathroom and changing room adjacent to the bedroom. There is a pull-out sofa which has a queen sized bed in the room as well. The room has a ceiling fan and light with a remote control. There is a desk, a large closet, a small dresser and a small refrigerator in the room plus your own Keurig coffee maker!

Guest access

The apartment is located in a small town about a mile from the Rutgers campus. The town's small shops and restaurants are minutes from the apartment. For Jewish guests it is also within the eruv and within easy walking distance of 4 schuls.

Interaction with guests

Guests have a choice of eating out at one of the cafes or restaurants in the town or having breakfast here in the apartment for an extra cost. I live in the apartment but the entrance for the room is a few feet from the front door and quite private.

Other things to note

I have an outdoor/indoor cat who stays exclusively in my rooms when she's inside at night. She does not go into the guest room.
The apartment is on the second floor with a 19 stair walk -up.

Deborah was kind, friendly and generous. The location was perfect for our needs. We were able to park the car we hired in the street. However there is a cat which needs to stay out of the guest room. It didn't go in when we were there. We did feel uncomfortable after sitting on the sofa in the living room. The furniture and fittings are tired. We used the sofa bed for one it was a bit uncomfortable, the single bed was fine.

A perfect Airbnb set-up, with all the trimmings (and beyond). Debbie was a very accommodating host. Hope to be back again sometime.

The location is superb. This is an ideal room for a single traveller visiting Rutgers or the New Brunswick area. There is a coffeemaker and small fridge in the room. Cooking at home is not straightforward since Debbie keeps a Kosher kitchen, but she is happy to show you the ropes. There is a single bed in the room and a sofa bed if you are a couple travelling. The room is en suite and the bath and shower are very clean and comfortable.

The house is quiet. It's close to the train station and Rutgers campus. There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby; I like the Hunan style Chinese restaurant a lot. The host is very kind.

Debbie was a wonderful gracious caring host. She was attentive to our needs and provided snacks and drinks (hot and cold) . The location can't be beat! Right off the main road but quiet.

Deborah's place was home away from home for me and my son. The location was excellent. My son enjoyed the story books provided by Debbie. We enjoyed every bit of our stay in Debbie's home. We appreciate Debbie's care and thoughtfulness in all ways. We'll surely keep in touch.
