Nestling on a quiet hillside in the Naturel Parc de Luberon, facing South and set in mature gardens, comprising three terraces and a wood offering a variety of spots to contemplate the views across the valley to the Durance River.

The space

Magical setting at the foot of the Luberon Mountains, this is the true heart of Provence. Wonderful terrace for open air eating, lots of spots around the garden and terraces to chill out and relax. Its a second home so furnished as such. Only 5 mins away from amenities.

Note there are unprotected drops at the back of the house - so any children need to be responsible or to be supervised.

Guest access

The accommodation is very versatile and with a downstairs bedroom and large bathroom, with walk in shower and separate WC it is very attractive for seniors who find stairs a problem.

Lots of space around the house as well as the wood at the back to get away and have some downtime.

Interaction with guests

Happy to have an chat by (website hidden) or Face Time to answer any queries. At Maison Durance there is a house book with tons of info and help in an emergency is only 5 mins away.

Other things to note

There are unprotected drops at the back of the house (from two terraces) so children need to have a responsible attitude or be supervised

Maison Durance is my second home and much loved. The house is well stocked including a drinks cabinet - all I ask is that my guests add to what they have used and treat my home with respect.

Smoking inside the house is not allowed - however there is plenty of outside space. NOTE that smokers need to be seriously responsible with their cigarettes as the Luberon is often very dry and we do not want a forest fire.

Well behaved dogs are allowed.

There are terraces at the back of the house - with unprotected drops - so parents must take responsibility for their children and or the child needs to be responsible - means that it is not a good idea to have small children wandering around the garden unsupervised.

The house must be left tiny and clean on leaving, with the beds stripped and the linen and towels put in the laundry room and the garbage bagged and place in the outbuilding.

Maison Durance is a beautiful welcoming house with everything you could possibly need. We felt very much relaxed and at home there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent our time discovering the locality and as well as the amazing locally grown produce, there were lots of beautiful hilltop villages to discover with amazing views and cuisine. It is obvious Kathryn has put years of love and care into the house, such that we continued to discover new and interesting aspects throughout the house during our stay. We had various members of our family come to join us while we were there and they all fell in love with it. It was a wonderful experience and we have great memories!

Amazing house! We all fell in love with it. The only problem were the mozzies in the evening ---but can'tdo much about that! It must be a local problem as all the shops seem to have run out of Citronella! Thank-you Kathryn --having lived in your house we feel as if we know you. Would love to come back!

Response from Kathryn:
Yes seems to have been a problem this year, not normally - however here at the house after you - the temperature has dropped - sat out on the terrace last night and none around. bit of a wind blowing them away!

Kathryn is an exceptional host with a beautiful home in a perfectly positioned hamlet within Provence. She communicated early and often, and despite us never meeting in person made our arrival and stay very convenient. Her kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook your finds from the local markets. The fireplace was a welcomed treat for our cold evenings after touring the surrounding towns. Kathryn provided several itineraries for day trips and checked in with us via the Air BnB messenger daily. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

A beautiful and spacious home which was a pleasure to stay at. We enjoyed a peaceful walk to Merindol and generally relaxing after a noisy city visit prior to getting to Kathryn's house. The house is slightly challenging to find but by following Kathryn's directions carefully we were able to find it. We were driving a 5+2 car and it was tight, so I wouldn't drive a larger vehicle unless you ar exceedingly comfortable with maouvering it. Other than that, the place is delightful, bright, airy and generally lovely and well kept. Thank you Kathryn for sharing your house.

Great host, very responsive and helpful. Charming house with both Provence and British touches. The terrace was our favorite place during peak summer heat. No pool. Need a car but well located.

Response from Kathryn:
Thank you - unfortunately the Commune have refused me a pool as I am in a protected area. Ridiculous as my neighbours have them. Being a Brit I asked for planning position while my Continental neighbours just plonked them in and got away with it!!!'

I have my own business - Durance Limited, specialising in corporate, team and personal transformation. My entire career has been in Human Resources and I am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. Maison Durance is my second home, which I have had for over twenty five years. Its a wonderful place to relax and chill in the midst of the Luberon Natural Park. What can I say but Maison Champeau is a real home from home - as my guests say "its paradise on earth".
