Great place in good location although a car is essential for everything. John was a great host, letting us use his BBQ in the evening. The animals make the place unique. We miss the chickens despite the noisy cockerel!

After spending a day in a crowded Paris staying for a couple of days in John's place was healing for both the soul and body. And I love the fact that the place is hidden and only accessible by car (comment to another review).

Our family of four had a lovely three night stay here. Our two children 6 and 11 loved the gardens and all the animals and spent lots of time exploring. The accomodation was rustic but perfect for us - we particularly enjoyed eating meals outside on the table in the garden however you should note that there are no kitchen facilities available apart from a kettle. John kindly let us put a couple of items in his fridge as we did not realise this. Overall we had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the area - walking down to the village also well worth the effort coming back up the hill :) and can recommend doing the local canoeing trip.

John's place is lovely--in a great part of the Dordogne, close to activities and beautiful views. He's a relaxed and kind host, and you do have your own little apartment. Great value; great place to stay with kids.

John is a great host. His place is very charming. You want to stay outside. Having the breakfast next to his vegetable garden while enjoying his home made marmalade is a delight. We had a great stay.

Beautiful spot, 5 minutes drive from town. Newly remodeled, clean room and bathroom, perfect and cozy for our family of 4. Host John super friendly and welcoming. Lovely, peaceful setting in the countryside (including roosters on the property so take earplugs if you're a light sleeper).
