We think of our property as an "Orchard Stay" - we have around 400 mixed trees on the property with a variety of seasonal fruits, veges and herbs available to pick. Its a place for kids to roam free and enjoy the cubby house, trampoline, tree house or riding bikes. There is a forest area for play. If you let the kids know what fruit is ripe for picking they won't keep saying "were hungry!" You will spot the odd Kangaroo hopping around while enjoying the serenity and a vino on the deck.

The space
The house is a farm house with four bedrooms and a cozy lounge with wood slow combustion heater. There is air conditioning to the main kitchen/dining/living area and fans in bedrooms. A large deck on the front with a BBQ is the place to hang out all year round and enjoy the view. We are surrounded by forrest for bush walking or mountain biking. There are vineyards close by and you are close enough to walk to town for supplies from the local shop - there is a great produce shop and pantry store.

Guest access
You will have the whole house, the orchard and the forest to explore! The kitchen is equipped with all utensils you might need to cook a meal or bake a cake. Oven, dishwasher microwave and coffee machine (which makes good bean coffee NOT pods). There are two dining areas, inside and out, each seating 6 people. There is small play area for kids with toys adjacent to the room with the single beds. There is a TV in the main lounge area. There are also couches on the deck so you can use this as separate living space while enjoying the view.

Other things to note
There is a dam on the property and it is suitable for swimming when the water level is high enough - check with us when booking and we can let you know what the water level is like depending on the season. For summer 20/21 its pretty good. It is also something that parents of small children or non swimmers need to be aware of.

Location

Kirup, Western Australia, Australia

We are walking distance to Kirup town where you will find a pub and the best produce shop in the South West, usually open Thurs to Sun. (check facebook ("Newy's vegie patch" for current opening hours) We are also close to Smallwater Estate and Barrecas for cellar door wine tasting and sales.
We are very close to State Forrest which is great for mountain biking, running or walking - you will see lots of kangaroos and emus and other birdlife. There is also a great large public swimming dam ten or so minutes drive away.

Our family likes to grow stuff - mostly fruit and veges! We like to escape the City to our little orchard and enjoy the fresh air, fresh fruit and just being away from the City. Our kids enjoying riding their bikes freely around the farm, swimming in summer and just roaming about. We enjoy sitting on the deck in the evening and watching the birds and just looking at the view.
