The space

Located just 10 kilometers (6 Miles) from the foot of the Monte Conero, Porto Recanati is one of the most sought out summer vacation place in the Marche region on the Adriatic Coast. Clean water and sandy beaches create the perfect environment for a perfect relaxing situation. Acces to the town is easy and smooth, by car or by public transportation. The "Autostrada" (A14) exit is just two kilometers outside the town and the train station, located in the center of town, is only 150 meters (450 feet) from us. The nearest airport is in Falconara (AOI), a little north of Ancona, is a 30 minute ride by car. The cost of a taxi from the airport is around 60 Euros. You also have alternative options with public transportation which it will take a little longer, but definitely much cheaper. Our house is located in the center of main street on the 3th floor and from the terrace we have a view of the sea, as we don't have a building in front of us. The best part is the fact that it only takes 3 minute to get to the beach, unless you are stopping for a "Cappuccino and Croissant" on the way. There is plenty of shopping within 5 minutes walk and even more opportunities to indulge in some artisanal "gelato" or a luxurious "Aperitivo".
My place has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry machine and new AC/Heating split system with a unit in each room.

Other things to note

Porto Recanati has been a bathing resort for more than one century. Being situated at the seaside with the marvelous frame of the Monte Conero it offers the tourist the possibility to spend serene and relaxing holidays. To those who come to visit her, she presents herself as a lovely town of fishermen with the sea being the natural place of relaxation and holiday. The beach promenade, completely closed to the traffic, invites you to take relaxing walks among the typical houses in every minute of the day. Numerous traditional events contribute to render Porto Recanati a city even more pleasant.

If you have a pet, keep in mind that we have a few cats in the house. They are pretty much confined into the other apartments, but the scent is there anyway. This also means that we have access to a good veterinarian. Something to keep in mind. If you have toddlers, the place is NOT CHILD PROOF. We do have an insurance on the building (mostly common halls) and, if you are not a EU resident, it is MANDATORY BY THE LAW that we register you as a "temporary guest" with the local authorities. Not a big deal, just more paper work for me. There is a "Manual" in house with all the instructions about the washing machine, AC, etc, along with a "Emergency Phone Numbers" list.
For a prolonged stay, over a week, the guests are responsible for the linens laundry and the regular daily cleaning and maintenance of the apartment. This is a "working" apartment, so we do have mops, brooms, vacuum cleaner and everything else needed for the regular maintenance of the place.

Two wonderful weeks in Porto Recanati has ended. We lived in Albanos apartment and it was perfect for us. The location was excellent, close to besch, shopping , railwaystation and grocerystore. Didn't meet Albano but his sister Anna and she was really nice and helpful. The apartment has everything we needed, extra plus for the terrace where we spent a lot of time. A lovely view over the beach and ocean. Wi-fi works perfect! Many thank's for a lovely holiday!!

The apartment was wonderful. We had a beautiful balcony to see the sea from a distance and watch the sun rise and set. The apartment was comfortable and had a wonderful breeze when the windows were open. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare meals. Albano was away so his sister Anna met us and showed us the apartment. Fruit and bottled water was available as a welcome. Porto Recanati was a great town with easy access to stores and the beach. The town of Loreto was near and is is a wonderful village with an amazing Basilica.

The host's cousin awaited us and introduced us to the apartment. The place looked just as in the pictures. In fact the terrace is even bigger than in the photo and was just amazing with the ocean view. We loved the neighbourhood, the nearness of grocery store, the closeness of the beach and the airy, spaciousness of the apartment. There was an overall feel of ease and being at someone's apartment which contributed to a feeling of not really being a tourist. We had some problem with the hot water in the kitchen, which was promptly resolved by Anna Grazia, Albano's sister. A few things that could improve the stay are clarity of the garbage system and where to bring. The bins in the nearby streets were either locked or didn't have all the variety of disposals. The bedroom door barely shuts and squeaks as does the bed frame. We would have preferred to not have any smoking in the overall building, but it wouldn't deter us from returning. As our train left in the afternoon, Anna allowed us to stay a bit longer so that we wouldn't have to be on the street with our baggage. Highly recommend the place for easy going, relaxed people who are not looking for a highly polished suite. PS: Wifi was awesome! Thanks for sharing your place, Highly recommended, Arathi Ma, Jason and Danica

Super location on the town's main drag, wonderful airy flat and welcoming host; the air conditioning is useful when you want to shut out the noise of the shoppers outside; minutes from the beach and all amenities - highly recommended and we will be back ourselves!

Stayed with my girlfriend one week in September 2013. The flat is beautiful, with as a feeling of a home, not a holidays flat, only 3 minutes away walking from the beach. The internet connection is also very good (wi-fi). The terrace has a wonderful view of the sea, we had breakfast everyday out there. The people that greeted us upon arrival were very kind and helpful (grazie!). We will definitely go back, hopefully soon. Recommended.

I grew up in Porto Recanati, on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. After coming to New York and working as a commercial photographer for many years, I became a Chef and Restaurant Owner, creating handcrafted foods in the spirit of "farm to table" philosophy.
