Guest access
Please make sure you are capable of easily stepping on and off a floating boat, constantly swaying and rocking from water movement. The boat can vary between 6”-12” off the dock. You must also be able to climb down 5 steps below deck into the cabin. If you have bad knees, a bad back, or you’re unsteady on your feet, this may not be the rental for you.

While the area is very family friendly, please consider this accommodation more suitable for adults and youth of a more mature nature – no one under the age of 12 and no pets please.

The sailboat is in a safe and secure area. The sailboat is docked on a lake, which is susceptible to the elements of Mother Nature; wind, rain, cold, heat, and other elements of nature may play a part in your experience. The sailboat is also docked next to other boats, with boats and boat owners coming and going throughout your stay – much more in the summer than fall through spring.

The walk from the free parking lot to the boat is approximately 100 yards, half of which is covered dock area.

Other things to note
IS A SAILBOAT DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER AIRBNB RENTAL?
1. Yes! The systems on a sailboat are controlled by a main navigation or control panel. While all those switches and knobs look fun to touch, turn, or flip, each of them serve a very important purpose and, flipped or turned the wrong direction, can render the boat unusable – please do not touch the control panel - (except as noted in our instruction guide) – unless you wish to be keel-hauled by an angry pirate!
2. A sailboat is like a tiny house on water. Ours is approximately 300 square feet, with a ceiling height of 6’9”, except in the master cabin which is situated underneath the cockpit. It has a very cozy, yet spacious feeling. However, we do recommend packing in collapsible luggage or duffle bags, as there is no space to stow traditional luggage.
3. Our sailboat has two tanks – a water tank and a waste holding tank.
The water tank does NOT contain drinkable water – even though we treat the water in the tank, we simply do not trust the safety of idle water for consumption. This water is used strictly for washing dishes, showering, and flushing the toilet.
The waste holding tank works like it does on a camper and must be pumped out periodically.
4. Plumbing on a boat is very delicate - if you haven’t consumed it, it shouldn’t be flushed – along with a small amount of marine toilet tissue (supplied)! Feminine hygiene products, paper towels, napkins, facial tissue, and/or any other item(s) must NOT be flushed. Flushing anything other than marine toilet tissue will cause a clogged, broken, and possibly inoperable toilet, which results in a lengthy and costly repair and probable cancellation of the remainder of your booking.
5. Most items related to boats seem to increase the price two-fold! Please be cognizant of this while enjoying our boat and help us keep track of remotes and other loose items. The lake seems to have an insatiable appetite for anything not attached! If something does find its way overboard, please let us know immediately so we may replace it before the next guest arrives.

My husband, Greg, and I are best friends and sailors. We have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and one Yorkie-child. We love the Caribbean, turquoise waters, relaxing vacations, and the island lifestyle. We enjoy beautiful destinations, meeting interesting people, and of course getting to sail in exotic locations. That's our dream lifestyle! In reality, we are blessed to have the privilege of sailing on one of the top 10 cleanest lakes in the U.S. - Lake Ouachita. A 40-mile long, 40,000 acre Corps of Engineers lake surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. It has one of Arkansas' most pristine shorelines - no private development allowed. This is where Sailing Grace, our 39' sailboat, calls home. We're not big TV watchers but love movies. We appreciate audio books, eating like the locals wherever we go, and enjoy a nice, comfy bed. We believe in respecting other people's property, leaving things better than we found them, and the Golden Rule. We believe we could not live without our iPhones, MacBooks, Fire TV, and at least one Caribbean vacation per year!
