Two blocks from the Academy of Music in downtown Northampton! Charming 1910 home with original details, wood floors & trim, lots of windows, a wood stove, colorful & tasteful decor, and a great front porch. The cozy 1st floor guest room looks out onto the deck & back yard and has a separate entrance. Walk everywhere, or use city e-bikes on the nearby bike trails.

The space
2-night minimum for graduation weekends of May 8th and 22nd.
The bright and cozy guest room is both sitting room and bedroom. The queen Murphy bed with excellent mattress, inviting bedding, and ample storage space easily converts into a charming sitting room if you prefer more privacy during your waking hours in the apartment.
We're easy walking distance from the Amtrak train, Peter Pan bus station, and main local bus stop (PVTA). Easy to get to any of the 5 Colleges, Springfield, Boston or NYC.
Quiet, tree-lined dead end street, yet right where the action is. Ample street parking; access to driveway if street parking is suspended due to snow.
Guest room has wonderful black-out shades, a full closet, comfy recliner wingback chair,
and good lighting.
We love kids, so if you have a child that sleeps in the queen bed with you, we are happy to have them. But there is no room for an additional sleeping set-up in the room.

Guest access
You'll be sharing our apartment with us. We both work, so much of the time, the space will be yours alone. The bath is shared, but we're quick in-and-out types, so there won't be a traffic jam. You're welcome to use our kitchen for fixing breakfast and lunch; we can likely accommodate you, with prior notice, if you'd like to cook dinner here.
You'll have access to the LR, DR, K, bathroom and guest room, as well as the front porch, back deck, and backyard. Seasonal furniture and a fire pit add to the space.

Other things to note
Guests will have a key to the front door for the duration of their stay. In warmer weather, separate access from the back deck is an option. We prefer to be at home to greet guests and so appreciate good communication re arrival time and needs, but self-check in can be arranged as well.

A quiet, tree-lined, residential, dead-end street one block long, located 2 blocks from Main Street in the heart of event-ful, safe, downtown Northampton MA. What could be more perfect? Northampton is known for Smith College, the International Language Institute, Paradise City Arts Festival, Django in June, Tri-County Fair Grounds, The Parlor Room, and so much more --restaurants, cafes, performance venues, shops, houses of worship -- all completely walkable, and yet there's easy local bus access 2 blocks away.

I'm Amy & my husband is Farnsworth. We're from NYC but have lived here in Amherst MA since 1994. Farns is a therapist; I work in a language institute. We love music festivals (jazz, bluegrass, newgrass, folk, world music), enjoy the beach, lakes, nature, wild and sea life, shops, boat rides, reading, movies, good food, art, museums, and all things international. We've both traveled and lived in a variety of countries and speak English, Spanish, and some French. We're easy-going, independent and happy to meet new people. We are politically engaged and feel deeply the trials of the world.

During your stay
We're a warm & welcoming couple who'll give you the attention and/or privacy that you need. We love socializing with our guests, and have had some great late-night and early morning conversations. But we are totally fine with guests who want to just say hello and keep to themselves. And everyone in between. We're happy to offer help with restaurants, destinations, things to do, parking tips, etc. We know the area quite well and enjoy sharing it with others.
