The space
the house is situated between the town and the quay area. It is a 15 minute walk to town.( you can stroll into town along the old railway line which is now a popular walking and cycling way.) You can also cycle through the beautiful Westport House to town. Westport house is 5mins walk away. I will provide free bikes for you to cycle to town on the local green way, or through Westport House, or to go on the 42klm greenway that runs from Westport to Achill Island, or you can cycle to Croagh Patrick. on a cycle path, about 9klms There are also some local cycling routes, Westport is very bike friendly.

i It is a 5 minute walk to the Quay area and Westport House where you will find restaurants and pubs and an art Gallery. You can also take boat trips out on clew bay from the quay.
Westport is an unique and charming heritage town. It was voted best place to live in in Ireland by Irish times readers in 2012. Ireland West Airport(Knock) is an hour away. Shannon Airport is 2 and half hours, and Dublin is 4hrs.
Westport has lots of outdoor activities. The great western greenway starts in Westport. The greenway is the longest off-road cycling and walking trail in Ireland. It is built upon the old railway line between Achill sound in the north and Westport south east of clew bay, it extends for 43.5km(27miles).
There are also many stunning beaches to visit, and you can enjoy a seaweed bath. Westport is a great place to use as a base for touring Connemara and Galway is only an hour and a half away.
Westport is situated on the wild atlantic way. The wild atlantic way is Irelands first long-distance touring route, stretching along the atlantic coast from Donegal to West Cork.
when you are tired out after all the activities you can relax either in my home or visit the many restaurants either at the Quay or stroll into town. Westport has lots of free music pubs to enjoy in the evenings. Most famous is Matt Mulloys of the chieftains fame.

Where you’ll be

Westport, Mayo, Ireland

I love the fact that you do not need a car to get around the local area. I love the walk into town along the old railway line., This walk takes about 20 to 25 mins. The Quay area is 5 minutes away. you can take a cruise out on clew Bay from the Quays. There are places to eat at the Quays and a good bookshop and Art Gallery. there is a great supermarket 4mins from the house. You can use the bikes I provide to cycle on the old railway line that is now a cycling and walking route into town. You can also walk into town on the main Rd, this takes about 20 mins, and does involve a bit of a hill for part of the journey, Or you can use the bikes on the 42klm Cycling and walking greenway, that goes from Westport to Achille Island.Or you can cycle out to Croagh Patrick along a cycling path.
