A recently modernised delightful country cottage in a rural setting. The house has been lovingly decorated and designed for complete comfort in all seasons. A wood burning fire warms the winter's nights while concertina doors in the sitting room and gorgeous eat-in kitchen allow for indoor-outdoor living in the summer. A perfect starting point for country walks and lazy afternoons at one of the excellent nearby pubs and restaurants.

The space
The sitting room comfortably seats 6 adults and large pillows allow for lolling on the floor for movie nights. The concertina doors open onto a lovely patio with views over the fields where you can barbecue and dine al fresco. The beautiful eat-in kitchen is bathed in natural light and doors open to the outdoor dining area.

The master bedroom, with ensuite, has an impossibly large and beautiful bathtub for a good warm soak after a long country walk. There is a small ante-room off the master bedroom which can be set up with camp beds for little ones.

Upstairs, a further twin room with two single beds and a further king room share the second bathroom. Both have lovely views over the fields where animals graze.

There is a cloak room downstairs and a separate utility room with washer and dryer for your laundry needs.

Location

Tisbury, United Kingdom

Tisbury is the closest village (7 minutes by car) and there you can find everything you will need during your stay. There is a Co-op on the high street for your grocery needs, an amazing fishmonger and a butcher.

There is no shortage of great places to eat, drink and be merry nearby. Our favourites are:

Pythouse Kitchen Garden West Hatch SP3 6PA. 5 minutes by car. A magical 18th century walled garden; it serves coffees and teas as well as seasonal dishes based on its own produce; the restaurant is open seven days a week for lunches and for suppers on Fridays and Saturdays – booking is advisable and essential for the evenings. It comes into its own on a sunny summer’s day but is snug in the cold of winter, with wood burners. 01747 870 444.

The Beckford Arms Fonthill Gifford SP3 6PX. 6 minutes by car. A stylish traditional pub and restaurant, frequently mentioned in one of those articles about “The top 10 places to….”. Great pub food combines with a more sophisticated menu for those not interested in fish and chips and juicy burgers or a tangy welsh rarebit, served with a soupçon of Guinness; advisable to book for food at busy times. Dog friendly, the bar has a log fire and for those summer days with sun, a herringbone brick patio and garden with boules pitch. 01747 870385

The Forrester, Lower Street, Donhead St Andrew SP7 9EE. 12 minutes by car. A 15th century pub, with a large inglenook fire and low beams; dog friendly with a Michelin Bib Gourmand (2017) for its food. We would advise booking ahead for a meal; note that it is closed on Sunday nights and all day Monday, save for bank holidays. 01747 828038

The Compasses Inn Lower Chicksgrove, Salisbury SP3 6NB 13 minutes by car. The Compasses Inn is a beautiful country pub in Chicksgrove, a quiet, picturesque village in the heart of Wiltshire’s spectacular Nadder Valley. Built in the 14th Century, the pub retains many of its original features; an old flagstone floor, open inglenook fireplace and gorgeous wooden beams. Walking into The Compasses is like stepping back in time. Open for lunch and dinner Monday to Friday and all day Saturdays and Sundays. We would recommend booking in advance. 01722 714318
