Aneberg was a comfortable, warm and stylish home. It has three great pluses. Firstly, it is beautifully located overlooking the fjord and mountains. Breath-taking in the morning and as it happens, its terrace is the perfect place to view the Northern Lights as there is so little ambient light. We saw the lights two days running. Secondly, the three-storey house is very conveniently located just 4km from a bus stop from where Lyngsford Adventures can pick you up for husky rides and reindeer sledging. Instead of an 1.5 hour journey in and then out of Tromso, it was just 45 minutes each way - saving loads of time. Thirdly, Bjorg and Steinar were really great Airbnb hosts. Quick to respond to any queries before we arrived, the house had been beautifully prepared and they even left a lovely meal for the five of us. The house has bedrooms on three floors, so it would suit a variety of family sizes or couples. There is a large and well-equipped kitchen, a useful drying room and my sons enjoyed using the sauna. If you stay here, car hire is essential but Tromso's roads are neither busy nor particularly complicated. Put it this way, we managed to find it even in the middle of a snow storm. Consider going to Tromso in December and January, as the lights are better at this time and also the whales will be feeding on the herring off-shore. Lastly, bring as much food as you can - Norway is very, very expensive. You are allowed to bring in most food stuff except potatoes and Norwegian Airlines has a large luggage allowance!

Response from Bjørg:
Det er fint å høre at familien Richard Young trivdes i vårt hus. De var positive, høflige og takknemlige mennesker som ga uttrykk for at de hadde det fint under oppholdet. Jeg kan anbefale dem som gjester, på det varmeste.

I like to paddle kayak and canoe. I also like to ride bicycle at the bicycle path close to the sea. ( and every seasons of the year) I love to spend time with my family, - make food together and talk about everything. Our house is very close to the sea, -only 1 second. And in the winter, when the weather is cold and bright I can watch the nothern light from my balcony.
