Anja and Rein were amazing hosts who provided anything you could need and were always happy to help. Spaarndam is al beautiful village and Haarlem is just a 15 minute bike ride away. The room is spacious and light, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom (with jacuzzi bath) is amazing. Overall our stay was a relaxing paradise, I'd rate it 6 stars if I could!

We had a very spontaneous and wonderful stay at Anja and Rein's place. The two are pleasant people who you can have a nice talk with, they will give you infos if you ask and they will leave you in privacy, too. To us it was just right :-) The room is cozy and clean and we never ran into trouble e.g. when sharing the bathroom or such. Anja provides a handy set of information about the area, routes and tips about parking possibilities for a trip to Amsterdam. In our room, there was always fresh water, coffee and tea for free. The village is small and calm, if you come from the crowdy city life you will love it. There was even a small art market and a mini flew market organized by the elders of the village. Less than 10 minutes car ride to Haarlem - check out the yearly Jazz Festival in Haarlem if it matches your dates of travel. Definitely recommended!

Anja's home is lovely with a beautiful riverside location. The walk to Haarlem along the river is so peaceful and the room is clean and bright. It is a bit remote for those trying to get to Amsterdam but still possible, however to our suprise we found Haarlem to be a much more enjoyable and less touristy city with great museums and shops. The room is well equipt with a fridge, water bottles, and tea/coffee, as well as towels and toiletries, and the bathroom is very nice. The only difficulty we had was the check-out being at noon, as we had a very late evening flight at 10pm and had to roll our luggage around the city all day. However Anja was kind enough to save us a bus fare and drop us to Haarlem on the last day which was very kind of her! Overall we had a great stay.

Anja and Rein were great!! Invited us with her to a wonderful local festival. The town is incredible friendly and accessible. Great views and restaurants! Worth the 30 min drive outside of Amsterdam! Thanks so much Anja and Rein!

Very nice stay at Anja's place for a weekend. The house is colourful and lovely and in a very pretty village. Anja and her husband seemed like very nice and smiling people. We had all information required for moving around, enjoying food and visiting. Although breakfast isn't provided, there are fesh fruits, coffee and tea which we very much appreciated and there is a supermarket really close by. There is a train station a bit more than 10 min away where we could park our car for free and then simply take the train for 15min to Amsterdam Central, very practical ! Would definitely recommend staying there, thanks Anja !

Our stay in spaardam was really really great! We actually planned on spending a weekend in amsterdam, but we were a little late for booking a affordable room in the city, so we ended up staying with anja and rein. Spaarndam is a very beautiful place! The room was just like in the pictures(very clean) and anja and rein provided us everything we needed! (Towels, water, showergel...) To get to amsterdam we rented their bikes and took the train from haarlem central station to amsterdam central station (which is really quick but a little expensiv - 5€ for one way) and on our last day in holland we went for a bike ride through the national park zuid-kennemerland to the beach. It was such a beautiful route! I would definitely recommend staying at anja's place! Especially for someone who enjoys city trips but likes to calm down at night.

Anja and her husband were amazing hosts! Me and my girlfriend we're really excited to stay somewhere that was close to a big city but far enough outside to enjoy the beautiful country side of the Netherlands. Their location was perfect, with a nice water front view from the room we stayed in. The room they rent out is awesome, it's a cozy spot on the third floor of the house with a great view of the country side and water. The bed was extremely comfortable. They also have a deluxe size bath tub in the bathroom which is a game changer! The neighborhood close by is very nice and quite, with a few restaurants and a grocery store in walking distance. They also have bikes you can rent which me and my girlfriend did and we rode them through a beautiful national park a few miles from their house. Well worth the bike ride if you don't mind riding 5 or 6 miles because it ends up right by the beach! As far as transit goes they have a bus stop close by that picks up every hour and takes you into the nearest town, Haarlem. Haarlem is a very nice change from Amsterdam if you want something cleaner and less touristy, but with plenty shops , restaurants, and sites to see. For the price and overall value it is well worth it to book with Anja and her husband! You won't regret a thing!
