This lovely detached cottage is based on the edge of Kiltarlity and without doubt is a superb base for exploring the many attractions and activities this area has to offer. The popular village of Beauly is only 4 miles away and offers a very good range of shops and restaurants, with Inverness, the Highland capital, just 12 miles away. You can visit Culloden Battlefield and its interactive visitor centre, Fort George, or Cawdor and Brodie Castles which are all steeped in local history. Fans of the TV series ‘Outlander’ will be close to the heart of Fraser of Lovat’s homeland, with the Old Foxes burial tomb only 3 miles away. Alternatively, explore the picturesque fishing villages and beaches of the stunning Moray coastline. Take a boat trip and perhaps catch sight of the famous bottlenose dolphins or go to Fort Augustus, where you can meander along the towpath and watch the boats coming through the locks.
Slightly further afield is the beautiful Isle of Skye and the wonderful unspoilt scenery of the West Coast, where you will find some wonderful restaurants to sample local produce, particularly seafood. A short drive will take you to Drumnadrochit, to the shores of Loch Ness and the stunning ruins of Urquhart Castle. Glen Affric, Glen Urquhart and The Great Glen Way offer superb walking and cycling, or follow the Strathspey Whisky Trail to sample a wee dram!
