Five minutes walk from picturesque Barna Village, stunning beach and pier , award winning restaurants, cafes, traditional pub ,cocktail bars on your doorstep. Strikes the perfect balance between a fun filled & relaxing getaway. Ideal base for exploring Galway City, the iconic Connemara region & the Aran Islands.Having a car is advisable.

The space
Public transport to Pinehurst Retreat is very limited so guests are advised to have their own car/ transportation.
Pinehurst Retreat is a completely private guest suite with its own entrance & outside patio area exclusively for guests use.
The Retreat has free WiFi (100Mbps) & a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon prime & Disney plus access. There is also a selection of board games & books to enjoy. In addition there are some light weights, yoga mats , skipping rope etc to facilitate exercise regimes.
Although the suite does not have a full kitchen it is equipped with a kettle, toaster, cafetière ( french press), fridge, microwave, dishes & cutlery. Tea , coffee & some light breakfast items are provided for your convenience.
A high chair , travel cot ,baby bath , baby toys & buckets & spades for the beach are also available on request.
Barna village is 5 minutes walk from Pinehurst Retreat & has more than its fair share of excellent restaurants, many of which do great takeaway options with delivery available via justeat.ie .

In addition guests are also welcome to enjoy all the gardens around the property , there are benches & garden seats scattered around....relax & take in the fresh Atlantic air.

Pinehurst Retreat is located in Barna , Co Galway on the wild Atlantic way. Barna is a pretty seaside village approximately 7km drive from Galway city on the R336 costal road with stunning views of the Burren region in Co Clare and the Aran Islands. As you approach Barna village ,Silver strand ,a stunning blue flag beach is on your left and Barna woods ,a popular walking spot ,is across the road from the entrance to Silver Strand .
Barna village itself boasts a beautiful stone pier and several beaches. The village has more than its fair share of excellent restaurants including the award winning O Grady’s on the pier and The West restaurant situated in “The Twelve” boutique hotel which is also home to the Pins Gastro Bar , Pizza Dozzina ( also does fab takeaway) and the Pins bakery. A pint in the charming traditional Irish pub Donnellys of Barna is always a good idea. . “Spiced “ Asian fusion restaurant and “Hooked “ award winning seafood restaurant are more recent additions to the Barna food scene. The village has two excellent cafes “Nourish” and “Barcella” where they serve coffee and light bites everyday. Many of Barna’s restaurants do fantastic takeaway options , many of which can be delivered to Pinehurst Retreat via justeat.ie .
Barna village has everything you need including Supervalu supermarket, two pharmacies , several very good hair salons, Piorra Beauty Spa, a laundrette, the Design house designer boutique and much more.
Pinehurst Retreat is a 5 minute walk to Barna village along a very safe quiet country road.

A true “Galway Girl “ having lived in Galway my entire life. ! I live in Beautiful Barna with my lovely husband john , our 3 amazing young adult children & our gorgeous Gordon setter ,Indie. I adore where we live on the wild Atlantic way so I decided a couple of years ago to convert part of our house into a private luxurious guest suite so I can share this truly special part of Ireland with visitors from all over the world.
