WELCOME TO THE LAIR!

The home is between Oakhurst and North Fork, Ca. 93643. The lockbox code is indicated above. Leave key in it when you leave. The wifi is rallyman1. The land line is (. Verizon gets much better reception there than T-Mobile.

I HAVE PUT SOME POINTERS AND INSTRUCTIONS HERE FOR RUNNING THE HOUSE AND CLOSING IT WHEN YOU LEAVE. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING FOR YOUR STAY THE FOLLOWING: SOAPS, SHAMPOOS, PERISHABLE CONDIMENTS, SUGAR, MILK, FLOUR, ETC., ALL PAPER ITEMS, INCLUDING PAPER TOWELS, BUT SOME TOILET PAPER IS PROVIDED.
THERE ARE SPICES. THERE IS DISH SOAP, CLEANERS, POSSIBLY LAUNDRY SOAP AND BLEACH. ALL LINENS ARE PROVIDED, AND SHOULD NOT LEAVE THE PREMISES. BEACH TOWELS SHOULD BE BROUGHT.

CHECK-IN TIME IS 5:00 p.m.
CHECK-OUT TIME IS 11:00 p.m. (UNLESS ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE)

FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN ANOTHER HALF-DAY OF RENTAL GIVEN THE NEED TO HAVE HOUSEKEEPER RETURN AND PREPARE WITH INSUFFICIENT TIME THE PLACE FOR THE NEXT RENTERS.
THE HOUSE HAS THREE STORIES, AND NO ELEVATOR. BEDS ARE ON THE SECOND AND THIRD FLOOR, AND ENTRY REQUIRES GOING UP A SET OF STAIRS .
ON THE FIRST LEVEL IS THE GAMEROOM AND A HALF BATH. ACCESSORIES ARE IN THE LARGE FOYER CABINET. THE SECOND OR MAIN LEVEL, WHERE THE FRONT STEPS LEAD TO, HAS THE KITCHEN , LIVING AREA AND THREE BEDROOMS; ONE IS THE MASTER, ONE HAS A QUEEN, AND ONE HAS A BUNK BED. THERE IS A LARGE BATHROOM WITH A DRYER AND WASHER, AND THERE IS A MASTER BATH. THE LIVING ROOM HAS A COUCH, BUT IT IS NOT A PULL-OUT. THE THIRD STORY LOFT HAS A QUEEN FUTON AND SLEEPING QUARTERS FOR FOUR SINGLES. ONE SINGLE BED IS ACTUALLY A CONVERTIBLE STTING COUCH WHOSE SIDES UNFOLD TO PROVIDE A SMALL, SINGLE BED. THE THIRD STORY ALSO HAS A SMALL BUT FULL BATHROOM.

ALL THE LINENS (TOWELS AND SHEETS) ARE ON BEDS AND IN BATHROOMS. IF NOT, ALONG WITH COVERS AND PILLOWS, THEY CAN BE FOUND IN THE HALLWAY TO THE 2nd FLOOR BEDROOMS, AND THE FUTONS ARE IN THE THIRD FLOOR CLOSET. THERE SHOULD BE TWO FOR EACH BED, THOUGH ONE OF THEM IS PROBABLY ON THE BEDS THAT ARE FRESHLY MADE. THE SITTING COUCH, FUTON AND MAIN COUCH ARE NOT MADE, OF COURSE.

PLEASE REMOVE YOUR SHOES WHEN IN THE HOUSE. THE CARPETS WILL OTHERWISE GET FILTHY.

THE GARAGE HAS BEEN CLOSED OFF FOR PERSONAL STORAGE. IT IS WHERE YOUR TWO WATER HEATERS ARE THAT KEEP YOUR WATER AND THE PLACE HOT. DURING THE YEAR THE IGNITERS ARE ON VACATION GUARD MODE AND THEN TURNED UP ON YOUR ARRIVAL.
ON RARE OCCASIONS, THE WATER HEATER IGNITERS WILL HAVE TO BE LIT, WHICH TAKES A BIT OF PATIENCE.

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY WE CAN HAVE YOU UNLOCK THE GARAGE AND REIGNITE THE HEATERS IF NECESSARY.
THE TWO GAS VALVES ON BOTH LINES HAVE TO BE IN THE ON POSITION AS WELL SO PROPANE GETS TO THE TANKS.

THE FOURNACE WHEN NEEDED CAN BE TURNED ON FROM OUTSIDE THE MASTER BATH JUST BY PRESSING THE LED PAD. AND THEN INCREASING OR DECREASING THE TEMPERATURE AND PRESSING “HOLD". MAKE SURE THE SYSYTEM DISPLAYS “OFF" WHEN YOU LEAVE. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING, BUT YOU CAN OPERATE THE FAN AND OPEN WINDOWS AND DOORS TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT VENTILATION. BRING ADDITIONAL PERSONAL FANS DURING THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS.

FOR HANDY MAN ONLY:
DURING THE WINTER MONTHS THE WATER IS TURNED OFF AND THE VALVE/LEVER LOCATED AT THE LEFT OF THE GARAGE AT GROUND LEVEL NEXT TO A CEMENT BLOCK WILL OPEN IT. IT NEEDS TO SETTLE IN THE WATER HEATERS FOR A FIFTEEN MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE HEATED. THE WATER THAT LEADS UP FROM THE WATER HEATER HAS TO BE IN THE OPEN POSITION. WHEN SHUTTING DOWN THE HOUSE, FAUCETS IN THE HOUSE ARE LEFT PARTIALLY OPEN, THE TWO LEVERS ARE CLOSED OFF AND THE HEATERS ARE DRAINED. ALSO THE TOILETS ARE WINTERIZED WITH AN ANTI-FREEZE CHEMICAL STORED IN THE BATHROOMS UNDER THE SINKS.

THE FLU OF THE FIREPLACE IS GENERALLY KEPT OPEN SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO KEEP THE FIREPLACE OPERATING. YOU WILL SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE THE HEAT FROM THE FIREPLACE BY CLOSING THE GLASS CASING AROUND IT.
SOME SWITCHES TO THE LIGHTS ARE IN ODD PLACES. THE TWO LANTERNS ON THE INSIDE ABOVE THE FRONT BALCONY DECK ARE OPERATED BY A SMALL SQUARE BUTTON AT THE BASE OF THE WALL ON THE LEFT. THE WALL SWITCH NEAR THERE OPERATES THE OUTSIDE DECK LIGHTS. THE KITCHEN LIGHTS HAVE A SIMILAR SQUARE BUTTON NEAR THE PATIO DOOR. THE DIMMER SWITCH OPERATES THE OTHERS. FLOOD LIGHTS OUTSIDE ARE OPERATED BY THE SECOND SWITCH. IF THE LIGHTS DON'T WORK, CHECK THE BREAKERS IN THE SUB-PANEL AT THE BASEMENT FOYER.THE NEXT TO THE FRONT DOOR ARE THE PORCH LIGHTS, FOR BOTH THE FRONT DOOR AND IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE.

THE FOUNTAIN CAN BE OPERATED BY THE REMOTE IN THE KITCHEN.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FOUNTAIN RUNNING WHILE YOU ARE GONE OR IF IT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH WATER. TURN IT OFF BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP. OTHERWISE, YOU WILL BURN THE PUMP AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING IT. IT RUNS ABOUT $ 150.00.

DO NOT RUN THE WASHING MACHINE IF YOU HAVE LEFT THE HOUSE. THAT WAY IF A LEAK OCCURS YOU WILL KNOW TO TURN IT OFF. YOU CAN TURN OFF THE WATER BY CLOSING THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVE IN THE BACK (CLOCKWISE).

THE DVD/TV WORKS AS YOU WOULD EXPECT, WITH A BLUE RAY PLAYER ON THE RIGHT. GAMES CAN BE FOUND IN THE CHEST. TO WATCH A DVD, TURN THE TV REMOTE ON; GO TO INPUT AND PRESS; WHEN THE MENU SHOWS FOUR CHOICES, SCROLL TO THE SECOND ONE FOR HDMI 1, AND PRESS ENTER. THE DVD REMOTE WILL OPERATE THE REST.

WHEN RUNNING THE DISHWASHER, PLEASE USE THE ECONOMY CYCLE AS THE REGULAR ONE TAKES A LONG TIME. PLEASE RUN THE DIRTY DISHES IN THE DISHWASHER BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT, USING THE SOAP PELLETS UNDER THE SINK.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF WITH THE KITCHEN STOVE BURNERS. THEY MAY BE ON OR STILL TURNING OFF WITHOUT SHOWING THE RED HOT GLOW. MAKE SURE THE STOVE TOP IS OFF BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE.

THE COFFEEMAKER WORKS FINE, BUT THE WHOLE BEAN GRINDER DOES NOT. AFTER PLACING THE COFFEE IN THE GOLD FILTER, PRESS GRINDER –OFF AND THEN PRESS ON POWER BUTTON. A LIGHT SHOULD COME ON. (PAPER FILTERS ARE NOT REQUIRED)
GAME ROOM. PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE FELT ON THE POOL TABLE AS TEARS AND REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT MAY HAVE TO BE CHARGED AGAINST YOUR DEPOSIT.

PLEASE DO NOT LOCK THE BEDROOM DOORS BECAUSE IF YOU DO SO WHEN YOU LEAVE WE CANNOT GET IN AFTERWARDS AS THEY DO NOT HAVE A KEY.

THIS IS A FIRE ZONE THREE AREA. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU USE EXTREME CAUTION WITH ANYTHING HOT OR FLAMMABLE, INCLUDING CIGARETTES. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED INSIDE. IF YOU SMOKE OUTSIDE, USE A RECEPTACLE TO PUT OUT YOUR CIGARETTES.

THERE IS A FIRST AID KIT IN THE BIG BATHROOM SINK CABINET ON THE FIRST FLOOR. FIRE EXTINGUISHER IS UNDER KITCHEN SINK ON LEFT.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR NOISE LEVEL AS VOICES AND MUSIC CARRY IN THIS QUIET COMMUNITY.

3.YOU HAVE STRPPED BEDS THAT WERE USED AND PILED SHEETS AND TOWELS ON WASHING MACHINE.
4.TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS, FOURNACE, AND FOUNTAIN.
5.DO NOT LOCK BEDROOM DOORS, BUT LOCK ALL EXTERIOR DOORS BEFORE YOU LEAVE.
6.MAKE SURE ALL FAUCETS ARE OFF, UNLESS FOR “WINTER" DRIP.
7.LEAVE KEY IN LOCK BOX OR GIVE TO HOUSEKEEPER.
8.PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO LEAVE THE HOUSE AS YOU FOUND IT. THANKS AND HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Loved the space, The cleanliness, the access to Bass lake and Yosemite. It has great game room to have a fun time. Summer can get a bit hot but opening the windows and fans work great. Everything seems to work fine

The house accommodated our big group (of 8 adults and 4 kids) and was the perfect location for our mini vacation. The house was located about 5 to 10 min from Bass Lake and about an hour from Yosemite park. Would definitely return next year and would recommend this house to all my family and friends. Thank you Marc.

Great place, perfect for a large group. Decently close to nearest town for picking up food or groceries/supplies (15-30 min drive depending on traffic). House is fully equipped with kitchen supplies, grill in the back porch, pool table and darts in the basement, a great patio, and fire place. Drive to yosemite was quite reasonable, although make sure to head out earlier. My party left the AirBNB at 10am, and didn't park until 2pm so be wary of traffic as there is only one road into and out of the park. This is of no fault of the AirBNB, just something to keep in mind when visiting Yosemite.

The Lair was great. The grill in the back was great, as was the kitchen. We all loved the big fur chair in the living room and the porch. Played plenty of pool in the basement. It was also a short drive (15mins) away from Oakhurst, which was convenient. The only thing that one of my friends noted was that the moonlight woke him up early in the morning because the upstairs bedroom didn't have any shades on the windows and the moon was really bright that morning. Great place!

It's so funny . I picked up that lounge chair off the street and reupholstered it. And wow the responses are great ! About the moonlight. Hmm I enjoy it but I get it. Those windows are small but i could work on it.
