Description

The space

Our flat is in a lovely, safe area, 10 minutes walk from Crouch End Broadway with all the restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and a cinema. Crouch End is buzzing, but our place is safe and almost secluded, as it's a rear extension of a Victorian house, and so we don't have anyone overlooking us. The trees just outside our living area mean you can hear birds singing every day, and get this countryside feel even though you are just a walk away from the hustle and bustle of Crouch End. We are at the top of the hill, and you get a lovely view of Alexandra Palace when coming out on the street. Our flat is on the ground floor, so we are fully accessible, it's great for families with a kid in a pram.
Green Lanes is also within a walking distance, with all the authentic Turkish cuisine, bakeries, and vegetable and fruit markets.

Our flat would be ideal for a couple with a toddler, but not only. We have two bedrooms- one with a kings size bed, and one with a toddler bed. Our little boy has loads of toys including a trampoline and a slide in the garden, and your child would be welcome to use these.

Guest access

Access to bathroom with a bath, open plan kitchen with a fridge freezer, gas oven, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, washing machine. Use of flat screen tv, wi-fi, DVDs, cd player. Access to the little garden with toys; slide, trampoline, sand table. Use of 1 adult bike if needed.

Interaction with guests

Not much as we won't be there, but our relative lives 10 minute walk away and will drop off and pick up the keys, and assist you with any queries! Please note that it is a family home, and sadly we can only have you stay when we are on holidays. In 2015 it will be some time in September, please enquire about specific dates.

The neighbourhood

Family-oriented, friendly, safe and quiet. Closer to the broadway: loads of places to eat out, supermarkets and cinema with viewings for parents with kids. Lovely parks- Highgate Woods, Priory Park, Alexandra Palace Park and Stationers park all nearby. Easy transport link to central London- 10 minutes bus journey and 9 minutes on the tube to get to Oxford Circus. 10 minute walk to overground station with links to Kings Cross and Moorgate. London has a great selection of family activities to choose from and thanks to good transport links it's all within easy reach. January is a great time to be here and to take advantage of the sales!

Getting around

We have good transport links- Finsbury Park station is a 10 min bus ride away, the Haringey rail station, Crouch Hill station, and Hornsey station are all within a walking distance.

We had a fantastic stay at Daniel and Agata's Crouchend home! It was perfect- check in was made easy with Daniel's mum Julia who was very flexible and accommodating throughout and happy to help us with anything, even when we were being silly and could not figure out how to work the shower (which is the only downside I can think of during our stay- when we did figure out how to get the shower head to work, the hot water was very hot and the cold did not seem to kick in half the time). A nice comprehensive list was left for us to make our stay easy, detailing things like how to work the internet, telly, oven etc. Very helpful! The location suited our needs perfectly- you have the choice of bus, overground and rail for getting in and out of town. We found the Harringay rail station the easiest with just one stop to Finlay Park and from there one stop to kings Cross. Cost about 7quid and takes about 20 min. The back garden was lovely and nice to enjoy when the sun was out. The flat is in a quiet building and in a quiet neighbourhood so you get the amenities of the city but without the nightime noise. And Crouchend itself was a delight-there was this really nice Italian/French fusion place called Melange just at the bottom of the hill and a real nice pub Kings Arms is right there as well. Definitely recommend a stay at Daniel and Agatha's if you get the chance- great value, great flat with all the comforts of home, and great hosts! Thanks again!! Regina and Susan
