Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
With open skies and rural tranquility, enjoy lovely views and no neighbours. You are NOT on a campsite! There's no noise/light pollution and dogs can be free in your fenced off area. Quackers includes a lovely wood burner, two bunk beds (bottom bunk can take two) and all the usual amenities. Adjacent is your private bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet - so pretty! Enjoy your fire pit, BBQ and use of the heated swimming pool. A child/dog friendly pub is just seven minutes walk away.

The space
Quackers is about getting back to nature in a gated and fenced-off area in the field next to Plenty Cottage shared with 26 free-range hens, three ducks and one goose. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control when crossing the field. Additional logs are available and the heated swimming pool is lovely. The adjacent shower/toilet unit has hot water and a fridge. Charmouth and Seatown are approx 3 miles away.

Guest access
Park in the ample driveway and you have access (on foot) to Quackers in the field across the road. Freezer space can be made available and wet clothes/boots can be dried overnight. Bikes and/or equipment can be stored safely in the garage.

Other things to note
Quackers is cosy and well insulated (wood) with ample storage space, a two ring calor gas cooker, a sink unit, a table, two chairs and two bunk beds. The top bunk is standard single length/width and the bottom bunk has been extended and widened to take two (cosily!) or for those six footers! Dogs must be kept on a lead when crossing the field (hens) and kept under control when within the fenced and gated area of Quackers itself. For extended friends/families, we are happy to allow tents - details and rate on application

Still known today for being the original writer and character creator of ‘Chorlton and the Wheelies’ and the equally popular ‘Jamie and the Magic Torch’, Jo Kemp has traded a long career in the heady world of media for her first love – Plenty Cottage. Retired from the world of film production – mainly TV commercials and series work - Jo also produced the long running children’s series ‘The Raggy Dolls’. Jo is still writing (even more so) with a couple of new exciting projects on the go including Hoo Ha House (now she has the rights back) and a trilogy called 'The Hourglass'. However, Plenty Cottage is a big house and as well as needing her writing time, Jo likes people. She is a sharer and what better way to have the best of both worlds than to let out The Duck Wing to those people who will simply fall in love and share in the Plenty experience. Having lived at Plenty Cottage for some 20 years, Jo is integral to the community and the landscape. Jo is a country person through and through with contented dogs, happy hens, a neurotic goose and visiting grandsons. She manages a prolific vegetable garden, she’s a bell ringer and she’s head steward at the local Flower Festival. Jo is also a wonderful cook so if you’d like (say) a jar of Plenty Marmalade or an Aga cooked casserole, these can be arranged; it’s about nothing being too much trouble.
