I wish I could have stayed more than 1 night at the De La Rosa ancestral home, it was a wonderful stay especially for history buffs. I don't have enough good words for Manang Ellen and what she contributed to our stay. She is an amazing cook of local dishes and helped us navigate…

The house is like a fairy tale, very beautiful and surprisingly. The host was not at home but she answered always the phone and help us to get a transport to arrive. There in the house, the help was super kind and nice to us, literally made us feel like the owners of the castle …

We were well-received despite the delay with our check-in time and rain. Manang Ellen was very accommodating, even changed our bed sheets and all. Our stay was a great bargain as we have the whole house to ourselves. Amenities are basic and fine as Taal is a heritage town. So…

Pros: - good location - historical building Cons: - most basic comfort - very noisy - no AC - no hot water - bathroom not clean - very dusty - welcomed by the maid, got barely any explanation on anything, never saw the owner - expecting the 6 of us sleeping in the same room…

Response from Anna:
The room can accommodate 4-6 pax...if the guest doesn't want to share a room, they should book another room. Our apologies that this was not clear to you. Owner is always out of town therefore it is usually caretaker who meets our guests. We will improve on the above comments because we did not encounter feedback like this from past guests. Nevertheless, thank you for staying with us.

We stayed as a group of 7 at this house during holy week and it was a lovely experience! Contacted Anna and response was immediate considering I booked the night before our actual stay. It'll be very helpful to ask for directions since place is a bit far from Tagaytay center. …

Despite its proximity to Manila, Taal feels like a step of the beaten track. This lovely town gets few tourists but has quite a lot to offer. Our stay in De La Rosa Ancestral House added heaps to the colonial flavour of our visit. It's a bit hard to find so ask for the krisdale s…
