This flat is exactly as it seems online. It was perfect in every way. There were 5 of us so we used the pullout bed in the kitchen/living area. It was comfortable and worked well. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and we were able to have a cuppa straight away. The location at the top of the royal mile was just wonderful but even though it was festival time we weren't disturbed at night. We would book again.

Paul's apartment is the perfect spot for a stay in Edinburgh, the windows of the lounge look down onto The Royal Mile. You are just minutes from the castle and all the central Edinburgh tourist attractions. We ate superb food and enjoyed great atmospheres by going to eateries and bars recommended by Paul (in a book in the apartment). Although central it was very quiet at night, we all slept well. This modern well equipped flat in a stone walled 17th century (I think) building was the perfect mix of old and new. The access along an alley, through a heavy door and up a well worn stone spiral staircase added to the fun and feeling of being part of the historic old town.

Paul's place is right on the Royal Mile within a few steps of the castle. It is in a typical old Edinburgh close which was a great experience. The flat is decorated to a very high standard and despite being on the Royal Mile, there is no noise at all in the bedrooms. Paul responds very rapidly to all communications and is very accommodating. All the tourist attractions are within walking distance. Great choice for a family trip to Edinburgh.

We stayed for four nights in Paul's lovely apartment. Paul was a very welcoming host and pleasure to meet, he answered all our questions and recommended places to visit and eat. The building itself appears to be hundreds of years old; it has a lot of character and has been thoroughly modernised inside to a very high standard and was absolutely spotless. It will easily sleep a family of four, an ensuite master bedroom with a double bed and a second room with two single beds and a separate bathroom. The living room consists of a modern kitchenette with everything you would need to cook and an extendable dining table. Paul was kind enough to leave us some snacks as well as fresh milk, juice and croissants. The apartment benefits from being right on the Royal Mile in the fabulous Old Town (great view from the kitchen/living room) and as such everything is conveniently located and always felt safe. It is within walking distance to Edinburgh Waverley station and the best way 'up' the hill to avoid climbing the 100+ steps fully laden with luggage is to walk along Cockburn Street and turn right at the top (about a 5 minute walk from there to the apartment) Some of the places to visit, especially if you have children is the Dynamic Earth (great 4D experience!) right next to the Scottish Parliment building by Holyrood Road, The National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street, Camera Obscura and World of Illusions (just a few minutes walk from the apartment and on the same road) and Edinburgh Castle just a few minutes further down. Another great place to visit if you have a head for heights is Athur's Seat which is the peak of an inactive volcano. There is plenty to do but we would advise you plan ahead with your activities to get the most out of your trip. We had a great few days in Edinburgh and would recommend Paul's apartment for its great location and convenience.
