Lake view

Soak up the view during your stay.
Welcome to our home away from home, Sunset Haven. It’s located on the beautiful and clear, Long Lake. The lake is approximately 950 acres and a popular swimming, fishing and boating destination. We have picturesque views of sunsets across the lake. Sunset Haven is close to the Wisconsin Ice Age Trail, offering year-round entertainment, local animal information and exhibits, many beautiful hiking and cross-country trails.

The space
Make some new memories! During the winter, you have access to miles of snowmobile paths throughout. Ice fishing! Grab your gear and walk directly onto the lake and pick a great fishing spot! There is also access (across the lake) to snowmobile or drive the lake. Try snowshoeing! Rentals and paths are available at the Ice Age Trail. Then, warm up with some hot cocoa when you get back inside!

In the summer, picture late nights around the glowing fire, gliding on hand-made Amish chairs, roasting marshmallows, all while listening to loons calling around the lake. Sunset Haven is fully-furnished with three bedrooms and two baths, a living room, a full kitchen and dining room with great views of the lake.

We are only 45 minutes north of Eau Claire, WI and 2-2.5 hours from the Twin Cities.

Guest access
The entire cabin less the partial basement where utilities/furnace are located. Parking in front of Sunset Haven or additional parking available up the hill.

There a rumors run of Al Capone and his crew escaping the big city life at Breezy Point Resort. The original stone archway entrance to the resort still stands and was restored in 2019!

Neighbourhood highlights

Sunset Haven is located on a long dead-end road. The gravel driveway is shared with another property. The neighboring property is further back from the lake, closer to the road. The only other (visible) neighbor is the next cabin over and down the hill from Sunset Haven.

The YMCA Camp Manitou is our other neighbor. They have 70 acres and have been on the lake since 1844. Their campers have been painting our old drifted tree for years!

There was a resort further down the road called Breezy Point. The original stone-archway entrance still stands and was restored in 2019. The road now goes pass the archway and is the beginning of the Sunset Haven property.

I’m from the Chippewa Valley and currently live in Minnesota. I grew up having my summers at the cabin, learning to fish, swim and roast marshmallows. My profile photo is the “Long Lake Monster.” It started as our tree, but fell into the lake and found its current resting spot. The Camp Manitou campers have painted it over the years!
