The neighbourhood

Dozens of wineries just 10-15 minutes drive away.

The famous tourist walk "The Drip" is only a 22 km drive from Didgy Ridge.

The township of Gulgong (15 minute drive) has two museums with the Gulgong Pioneer museum being my pick.

Gulgong also has some lovely pubs such as the rustic Prince Of Wales Hotel.

Mudgee (Aboriginal name that means "Nest in the hills") is the largest township in the area and has plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and other attractions to keep you entertained.

Mudgee also has lots of special events during the year and is regularly fully booked out on special event weekends.....not something you will have to worry about!

The place was as described. Jay and Lina gave us some great tips which greatly increased our enjoyment of the area. In particular, they told us about 'the Drip', a beautiful section of the Goulburn River and pointed out the proximity of Gulgong, which is a lovely little country town and a great alternative to Mudgee. Gulgong (only 15-or-so minutes away) has several museums (do not miss the Pioneers Museum), a good Thai restaurant, pubs, cafés, bakeries a market and a choice of churches for a Sunday morning worship (the Presbyterian one has a nice young minister and is family friendly). Thank you Jay and Lina.

We absolutely loved staying at Didgy Ridge - it was warm and cosy throughout a very cold winter weekend! A beautiful spot, we'll definitely be back. :-)

We really enjoyed our time at Didgy Ridge. The home was comfortable and well appointed. It is in a very quiet location and has a large bush area with some interesting walking tracks. The lookout has a great view and we saw some beautiful sunsets from it.

This little cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of two adults, two teenagers and three dogs. The set up for the dogs worked really well - closed in verandah and great outdoor enclosure which was secure for our expert escape artist beagles. The cottage was amazingly warm and cosy, the generous supply of firewood was much appreciated. Beds and couch were very comfortable, bathroom clean and kitchen was well equipped. We loved being out of town as it meant we had much more of a look at the countryside during our day trips but we weren't too far away from wineries and the town centre. We were all unwell with coughs and colds during our stay and being in such a lovely spot helped make it still feel like a holiday. Loved Mudgee - fantastic cellar doors and great outdoor spots such as Ferntree Gully in Rylstone and The Drip and Hands on the Rock just north of Ulan.

My wife Lina and I live and own a business in Sydney Australia. We also own a rural property in Mudgee NSW which is about 3.5 hours from Sydney. The rural property "Didgy Ridge" is our holiday home which we have owned for over 12 years. Many of our friends and relatives have enjoyed staying at the property over the years so last year we decided to share our country home with the Airbnb community.

We enjoy the fresh air and the cosy wood fire but most of all we love the peace and quiet of the Australian bush.

We hope that you will also enjoy the experience as much as we do.

Lina and I have a simple outlook in life. Treat people the way you like to be treated and the rest is easy.
