Tucked in a serene nook of the breathtaking Colestin Valley, this tiny house was built with reclaimed and repurposed materials from a historic local housing district. A pair of outdoor, porcelain bathtubs and seasonal fire pit complete the unique, private setting—primed for travelers wanting to get off the beaten path, but within five minutes of I5, also a convenient stop for road trippers looking to break up a long drive. And we're pet friendly! See House Rules for details on pet and tub fees.

The space
The Cabinette's interior is rustic, cozy, and quaint, featuring plenty of warm, natural light, hardwood floors, and a small but fully-equipped bathroom with tiled floors and a standing shower. The front porch and a swinging bench under a nearby oak tree offer gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside including the famous Pilot Rock, the Siskiyou Mountains, and the old Hilt Mill Pond.

To maximize the utility of the interior space, the full-size mattress is in a loft with about three feet of headroom at the head of the bed and a ceiling that slopes downward toward the foot of the bed; it is accessed via a space-saving, steeply angled ladder.

Two vintage bathtubs sit behind the Cabinette on a knoll overlooking the scenic heart of the Colestin. When filled with heated water pulled directly from our private, mountain well, they make the perfect spot to soak and take in the daytime scenery, or gaze up at the vibrant night sky, as clear as it gets with almost zero light pollution. The soaking tubs are available year round for an additional fee, to keep the base cost of a night's stay to a minimum. See our house rules for the details!

The fire pit is nestled among sections of felled trees that provide plenty of comfortable seating. Due to the risk of wildfire, its use is seasonal and unfortunately it will NOT be available during the summer months.

The Cabinette is not equipped with a full kitchen, only a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, cups and mugs, and a complimentary selection of coffee and teas. A powerful gas stove keeps the tiny house toasty during the winter, but with no AC we'd recommend that during the summer months the windows be kept open at night with the fan on, and closed during the day to maximize the natural cooling effect, as the summer days can sometimes be quite hot here.

Guest access
Guests have full run of the Cabinette and surrounding area, and are welcome to further explore the property and the adjoining National Monument!

Nature abounds on the land surrounding the Cabinette: it adjoins the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, perfect for a scenic hike, and the property itself, interlaced with deer trails and local, country roads, affords many an opportunity for a casual stroll through picturesque countryside.

And feel free to say hello to our donkey, Opal! You may see her wandering the grounds "helping to trim the grass" ;) She's super friendly and loves meeting new people!
