There is a place that I want to visit again and again. Not only the environment, Yuu San and his family are so kind to us. They treated us like we are family. The time we spent there is slow, calm, and free. We can feel we are a part of nature, just like their concept. It's a pity that we can't stay there longer. Next time we want to go there in other season, to feel different atmosphere of the ''mori''. Thank you, Yuu san and Megumi San!

My wife and I have been living in Japan for 15+ years now, so we are so happy that we have found a place like the Seizou House! Yuu-san and his family were such a joy to spend time with during the day and at nighttime when we had the most amazing meal ever full of fresh homegrown organic vegetables. Even though the Seizou House is just a quick 3 hour bus ride away from Tokyo, it might as well be a world away! The slow pace of life and fresh mountain air was just not what we needed since life in Tokyo sure couldn’t be different! Staying here is the perfect option for anyone living in Tokyo as well as anyone visiting Japan from overseas who wants to get off the beaten path a bit and experience life in the Japanese countryside. I definitely recommend staying here and know that we will be back every chance we get. 10/10 for sure!

Dokusho no Mori is one of my favorite places to visit in Japan. This was our second time visiting. The first was over the summer, when the rice paddies are stunningly green and the mountain air is refreshingly cool (especially coming from Tokyo). It is just as beautiful in the winter and it wasn't yet too cold so we could still go for long walks in the surrounding areas. We loved the space of the farm itself, and the way that Yuu-san and his family have integrated art into nature. But what makes Dokusho no Mori so special is the feeling that you are among old friends. Dinners were not only filled with delicious home-cooking (often sourced with vegetables from their own farm) but also conversation, song, and even the occasional art, like lantern-painting. Particularly for visitors who may be new to Japan, it's a wonderful place to get to talk with people from both Japan and all over the world. We highly recommend Dokusho no Mori (especially the Art house) and very much look forward to returning in the future!

Yuu-San and Megumi Are wonderful hosts. Picking and dropping us off at the train and taking us to intresting places in the area. We loved the bountiful food that Megumi prepared at every meal from her garden. There was always friends and people dropping into the coffee shop to have interesting talks with .

Fantastic place WAY out there in the country, which leads to some amazing views, every picture you shoot will be postcard worthy. They picked me up at the station, which was a great relief. The house-what can I say? If you are looking at this listing, you will probably love it. I sure did. Kind of like that camping feeling, only much more comfortable. Private, yet has easy access to the cafe. By the way, DO take the opportunity to have Megumi-san make you a meal. You will get a family style meal which will be all you can eat. Amazing! The hosts are renowned artists, who will make you feel at ease, and the cafe always has interesting people showing up. THIS is why the Airbnb experience is so superior. Don't miss this one!

I and my wife have been running a unique book cafe Dokusyo-no-mori for 21 years.
Our city Komoro is a small city in front of Asama mountains. And our place Mimakigahara is a wonderful table land which has splendid view .We have enjoyed our country life very much.
We also love foreign people and often they stay with us as our better helper or friends. We love many kinds of arts, music ,literature ,crafts and we have making some unique small houses including straw bale house .We have held many kinds of events for 20 years . If you happen to come across one of them you are sure to enjoy yourselves very much.
We also like animals and have a donkey and two goats that are very cute and lovely. In addition, near our Cafe, You can enjoy beautiful Cherry Blossoms in Spring (April/May) or colored Maple leaves in late fall (Nov) at NUNOBIKI Kannon Temple or KAIKOEN Castle in Komoro near our Café, and also original Japanese wild flowers and grass, coloring natural scenery beautifully from season to season around our field with unique Art monuments.
