Description

The space

It has a small kitchen (with a single stove, microwave, fridge and coffee maker), small bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet downstairs and a bedroom upstairs. There's a single bed and chairbed/mattress so it can host two persons, but for longer stays the place can be too small for two people. Wifi internet is also available 24/7 with strong signal and great bandwidth.
There's also electric heating for the winter or colder autumn days.

A ladder goes up to the bedroom so it is not ideal for people with disabilities or for those who have a fear of ladders. Also the apartment is on the first floor with no elevator.

Parking is possible on the small street around the corner, but it is only free in the evening/night, and weekends.

You’ll find some sightseeing and other important/useful tips and information lying around in the apartment, and I live nearby so I’m close if you need anything.

Guest access

You get your own set of keys (only one set available) upon arrival. You'll find free coffee and the wifi password in the apartment.

To save some space there is no washing machine in the apartment, but there's a cool, cheap laundromat nearby.

Interaction with guests

I am available if you have any questions, but if everything goes smoothly you won't see much of me :) I can be very enthusiastic about recommending places and things to do in Budapest, but the amount of contact will be mostly up to you.

I can give you local SIM card and phone so you can call and text me and other Hungarian acquaintances for local prices.

The neighbourhood

The Budapest SOHO with cool ruin pubs on every corner, and some of the greatest sights are within walking distance. You can find everything within 100 meters: big grocery stores (Spar, Aldi and CBA), shopping mall (Europeum), McDonald’s, Burger King, 24hour Tobacco Shop and grocery shop, laundromat, kebab/pizza places, pubs (some with live music).
The lively old town center with souvenir shops is just 3 bus stops away.

Getting around

Excellent public transport (metro line 2 is 50 meters, buses are just on the other side of the street going to Buda, tram 4-6 just around the corner), they operate all night. The sightseeing bus also stops within 100 meters. Great public transport from the airport, and if you arrive by train all railway stations are within ten minutes!

Zita and her husband were cheerful and provided me with all the information, suggestions and tips I needed. The apartement is well located, very close to Keleti station, the centre and to bus station as well underground transports (and nightlife) The apartment is perfect if you have to spend some days in Budapest for vacation. In my case, I was in Budapest for studying and working and the apartment was not the ideal place where I could study, due to the lack of light. Thank you Zita!

Response from Zita:
I am sorry about the light. I think it's plenty enough for everyday activities and most people use only laptops. Had I known, I would have provided you with a desk lamp, but I somehow forgot to ask. Sorry about that again, and thank you!

The add says a lovely mini-apartment and it was just that and more. yes it is smaller than a typical apartment, but it is perfectly fitted out and has a lovely homely feel that is just right when you are traveling. The two levels to the apartment make for a great zonal feel. As a digital nomad, I also used the high speed internet to work from home on. The ability to work in one area, live in another and sleep in another was perfect. The location is great, there is an endless supply of transport, supermarkets and food outlets. There is even a great little bar just out near the entrance to the building. I was there for 3 months, winter and a bit of spring, on the cold days I was warm and on the warmer days I was very comfy. The building has a history and is quite quaint. The neighbors will wave but leave you alone, and they are fairly quite. Zita is amazing, not only is she friendly and informative but she goes beyond. She made sure I was comfy, came and offered to clean linen etc regularly, even making home cooked meals (her Mums amazing cooking) and was a lovely friendly face who understands travelers needs. That said she also respected privacy and was a total super host. Okay, so every reviewer needs a negative, right? Well I thought about this, and to be honest I had no issues at all. Worth a mention, when I was booking I was unsure about the ladder to the second floor. I had no issues at all and it is super strong, you will be fine. I really recommend this place. Oh and a little bonus esp. if you are not from Europe is the Building has a classic European old world charm that you will fall in love with. 그것은 훌륭했다,당신은 같은 것 안전하고 깨끗한 친한 친애

I had an amazing time at Zita's apartment and in Budapest. The apartment was the perfect size for one person, and it was in the perfect, central location. Zita and her partner could not be more kind to me too. From the start, they welcomed me with food and gifts, and Zita kept in constant contact with me to make sure I was enjoying my time in Budapest and to give me great recommendations of what to see and do. I'll definitely stay at Zita's place whenever I go back to Budapest.

Hi, I'm Zita from Budapest, Hungary, 32yo, married without kids. I am a social worker, who likes to read, sing and write short stories. I've been married for over thirteen years, and my husband and I like to explore and get to know new things. We love life and generally we are fun to be around. If you get to know us, you'll see, there's never a boring minute in our company. :)

As a host I'm trying to be as helpful as I can, to make your trip memorable. I'm in love with my city and my mission is to prove that every amazing thing you've heard about Budapest is true.
