Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Unique location! Your lovely bright room has views of the River Camel and the beautiful Camel Valley. With easy access to main routes, it is a perfect location for exploring all the delights of Cornwall. For cyclists we live next to the Camel Trail, a flat 19 mile traffic free route through beautiful countryside, villages and the towns of Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. Your room is well equipped with fridge, TV, Kettle, Iron, all you need for a comfortable stress free stay. Breakfast included!

The space
A unique and peaceful holiday retreat in a central location ideal for exploring all the wonders that Cornwall has to offer. The cottage is located in The Beautiful Camel Valley near Bodmin with our garden reaching down to the River Camel itself.

We offer a comfortable room equipped with a king sized bed, TV/DVD player, Tea/Coffee making facilities, mini fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, alarm clock, radio. The en-suite bathroom is very large and offers a corner bath, separate shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.

Guests are welcome to explore the garden and enjoy sitting by the river or catching the evening sun with a glass of wine outside the art studio.

We pride ourselves on offering a friendly and personal service, we are always on hand should there be a problem or if any guest should need something. A full breakfast is offered every day, with choice of full English, healthy options and vegetarian alternatives. With advance warning we are happy to make sure that we have any favourite breakfast treats available and we are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements!

Not a day goes by without us appreciating where we live, we love to share that with guests. We quite literally live on 'The Camel Trail', with miles of safe, level cycling and walking to enjoy. The River Camel runs alongside the trail making it a very picturesque route (Camel means Crooked River!). It is a quiet getaway and yet close to main access roads for exploring the whole of Cornwall. We are just a half hour drive to the north and south coast. St Anne's Cottage is our home as well as our place of work so we around most of the time if our guests need anything.

Guest access
We are happy for our guests to make themselves at home during their stay and they are very welcome to pop back to the house during day should they wish to have a rest or to simply enjoy sitting in the garden with a good book.

Reiki or meditation sessions can also be booked with Valerie, and Kevin is always happy to show off his art work!

Other things to note
The guest room price is based on 2 people sharing. We can offer a reduction for single occupancy.

Please also note that our garden is not safe for children, the river is fast flowing and very deep in places especially after heavy rainfall. Therefore we regret that we do not allow children to stay and share their parents room.

Bodmin, United Kingdom

We love the unique location of our home and hope that you have time to explore all that the local area has to offer.

We have an excellent local pub serving meals all day. The nearby Cream Tea Gardens are just a short cycle ride away at Nanstallon, they serve excellent afternoon teas and lunch time snacks. A short distance further on is the Camel Valley Vineyard, well worth a visit to try the famous local Camel Valley Brut. Or an 8 mile cycle ride, takes you to the very friendly off grid, 'Snails Pace Cafe', where they serve delicious home cooked lunch time meals and cakes!

There is something for all the family, everyone likes a nostalgic steam train ride on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway or how about a visit to the spooky Bodmin Jail? Slightly further afield we have delightful moorland villages and Bodmin Moor itself with its areas of wild beauty and hills as well as places of historical interest. Golitha Falls, The Hurlers and Rough Tor to name just a few. We are also half an hour to the North or South Coast, so the sea is not far away. Padstow, Polperro, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, Fowey, they are all firm favourites for us and we can even tell you where some more secluded beaches are!

Cornwall is renowned for art, whether it be exploring galleries or seeking inspiration. We can also arrange for you to have an art class with a well known local artist, Sally Jones.

We always have plenty of tourist information available for our guests and we are happy to help you sort out what you can feasibly see in a day!

We moved to Cornwall in 2013 after abandoning our jobs and old way of life in Hampshire. We have no regrets! We love living in the centre of this beautiful county and meeting new people from all walks of life. My husband is an artist and I love to write, I also teach meditation, dowsing and healing. We also love reading and gardening when time allows. We like to offer our guests a warm welcome and a relaxed place to stay, basically we offer what we would like to have ourselves! We love the countryside and places of historical interest, Cornwall has plenty of both, along with a little mystery which makes it such a captivating place to live, work and spend holidays.
