This impressive Bright Sunny 3 Bedroom ( all three overlooking the serene grounds and rolling hills thru large panoramic windows ) and 2.5 baths. Home is comfortable and quiet. 2 queen bedrooms, 2 single beds, 2 full bathrooms, powder room, outdoor whirl pool and shower. Full kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer. Air conditioner in each bedroom .

We are primarily offering 6-12 month terms for people who also enjoy nature - yoga and meditation. Please no events and no pets.

The space
During the era of prohibition, Artie Shaw used this space to host jazz musicians and very well known actresses. The 19th-century Greek revival home is full of history and character and possesses a surprisingly extensive interior.

The Garden House space you will occupy which is a self-contained home, is attached to the main house. It includes what was once a 'tavern' which is the living and dining area of the home and this opens out to a historic stone wall. Off of of the living area there is a full kitchen and full bath, as well as a laundry room. A newer addition includes a guest wing with an office and 3 more bedrooms plus full bath, and a mudroom with extensive locker space.

The Picardy Farm - 10 acres plus the adjacent 33 acres allow an endless view over ancient indian land. It is located in the Hudson Valley, 2 hours north of Manhattan. On the property are curving stone walls, white picket fences, old growth hardwoods, stream with a wooden bridge and perennial gardens.

The Picardy Farm consists of:

A) The Main House (4 Bedrooms, up to 8 guests)
B) The Garden House (3 Bedrooms, up to 6 guests)
C) The Barn (3 Bedrooms, up to 6 guests)

which can be rented separately or together. The Main and the Gardenhouse are connected by a door.

Other buildings, like the old schoolhouse, which is being transformed into a dedicated Meditation & Yoga room can be used upon request.

Your perfect, personal, intimate, serene retreat space. Starting from 2021 we offer personal chef - yoga & meditation teacher, masseur, personal trainer - daily housekeeping upon request ( mid week housekeeping included in our rates ).

Stays beyond 7 days require a weekly cleaning service at 30 usd per hour - 4 hours per week.

Originally owned by Artie Shaw, widely regarded as “one of jazz’s finest clarinetists”, Picardy Farm and its surroundings inspired Shaw to make his most significant strides as a musician and compose tunes reflective of the landscape.

”Picardy Farm..." Shaw wrote. "Good God, the emotions those two words evoke. The place where for the first time in my life I had found a real home, a warm sense of security, and a feeling of calm and peace of mind."
That sense of pristine beauty, clarity, and peace of mind is never far away in Shaw’s recordings, and has probably never been equaled in jazz history.
